TNF Game Thread: Seahawks (2-4) @ 49ers (2-4)

Now all were going to here is how the Seahawks are back, after losing to the Panthers due to "communication issues".

I guess their "communication issues" allowed Cam to go 12/15. 160 yds 1 td 0 int with 94 qb rating in the 4th qt.

Not to mention that one of those incompletions was a spike and another was a drop from Funchess.

If history is any indicator, there is an excellent chance the Panthers and the Sea Hawks will cross paths again during the playoffs.

If that happens, at this point it's highly unlikely to happen in Seattle.

Home field advantage is an uphill battle in their position.

Looks like it's the Seahawks themselves pushing that narrative.

In a way part of me would love to see the 'Hawks get their asses handed to them every game the rest of the way, but on the other hand; it'd be awsome for them to win the West and the Panthers earn HFA. It would be awesome for Seattle to have to come to Charlotte and we beat them here

beating them once can be blown off as getting lucky, which seems to be how most are trying to spin it. beating them again would clearly define our dominance.

The Seahawks are a good team, they've been in the business end of fortune a few times but they've also been incredibly fortunate at other times in the past.

I don't want them getting their confidence back but it was good to see them stomp the niners because it just makes our win feel more legit. What other team this season will be able to say they engineered a 4th quarter comeback and scored nearly 30 points against Seattle and beat them in their house? Certainly not the niners. They can't even score a touchdown at home against the Seahawks.

    • Lanorris Sellers is my choice but I'm biased of course. He should honestly stay another year and develop as a passer though.
    • DCs have got a couple of years of Canales' play-calling now to see what he's doing the same between TB & CAR. Most fans without an anti-player agenda understood coming in that this was going to be a season about developing the young guys (something most fans have been clamoring for since the soft reboots started taking place), but the coaches are in the same boat imo. Not only does Evero need to show that last season was an aberration, Canales needs to show that he has an offensive mind that can compete with some of these great defensive coordinators around the league. I think one of the adjustments for that particular play is going to be having Tremayne (or whoever the WR ends up being) create a contact with the SS before his break to the corner if the CB has outside leverage. I recall seeing the same (or at least a very similar) play drawn up during preseason where XL was breaking open to the corner after getting to the CBs outside shoulder but the ball went elsewhere due to pressure. Shoot... I think this might be the season that I finally challenge myself to try and figure out which plays/concepts we see most often and when. The last decade of reviewing all-22s after frustrating L's has helped me learn so much more about the game. 😄
    • I think he should keep it tbh and try to improve at it all. We hired him to be the f'ing playcaller and head coach, so deal with the bumps of someone learning on the job with a limited QB. It's fine.
