D-Will = 1st League MVP not in Pro Bowl?

When he gouges the Giants on Sunday for another 150 yards and a couple TD's on National TV, and then has a good game against NO the next week (which Fox will play hard for both because it will give us a franchise best 13-3 record, and so we aren't resting for 2 off weeks with so much momentum going into the playoffs) will D-Will get snubbed for MVP just so no one looks stupid for snubbing him for the pro bowl?

MVP does not necessarily mean 'the best" player. Just the most valuable.

If he continues like he is and they win the super bowl, he will be mvp of the league.

No easy, but COULD happen. They would not hold not being in the pro bowl against him.

MVP is a regular season award and the vote is taken before the playoffs begin.

A MVP can and has come from small markets but they are usually QB's. Farve in Green Bay and Manning in Indy come to mind.

A Carolina Panther will never win MVP, as long as we are still this small of a market.

I second that damnt.

If he has 19 carries for 220 yards and 4 touchdowns on Sunday with Madden slobbering all over him in the process..only then would he have a shot.

He might even need a bigger game than that as well as about four other players playing extremely bad the last two weeks.

150 yards against the giants? redskins thought portis would get 150 yards against the giants he got 22..

DeAngelo Williams >>>>> Clinton Portis

Panthers Offensive Line >>>>>> Redskins Offensive Line.

And thats OK, even if you some how manage to contain D-Will, Stewart will come in and take it to dat ass.

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
