What's the secret to this teams success?

Truth be told, everyone and their mom thought the Panthers were going to suck this year. Probably miss the playoffs as well.

I for one thought of a 10-6 record, now, well now it's much higher than that. The playoffs are pretty much in the bag. It just depends on where the road to the super bowl will go through, I'd prefer Charlotte.

But what can we account this success to?

People that follow this team carefully will agree it all starts with the off season. Solid off season this year.

Unfortunately, there will always be adversity. The injury bug struck with full force. Kelvin Benjamin goes down. During training Camp, Frank Alexander goes down. Luke goes down, Charles Johnson as well. Panther after Panther, injured.

Much to the dislike of fans, and expectations I suppose. The brass made one move for the KB injury that really has not panned out. Then another move for CJ, that has payed dividends and added more character to this defense.

Somehow some way, this team is finding way to win instead of, a couple of years ago, finding ways to not lose. This team is far from perfect but it's found its identity. Balance. Cohesiveness. Grit. Resilience. Confidence.

They've taken a "Us against the world." attitude. Something that's found in a team that wants to win a championship.

Is it too early to be talking about the Super Bowl? Perhaps. But it's not out of question, it isn't out of the realm of possibility. It is within the grasp of this team.

This year has been a year of revenge. Righting the way this team has been wronged in the past. This team has been Karma incarnate to the rest of the league.

There's definitely a belief in that locker room that they are the team to beat. Each interview for each player. Confidence is abundant.

Another factor is definitely the fans. If you haven't noticed, even if it is part because of a surge of bandwagon fans...the atmosphere on game days is phenomenal. On the road and at home. The support is feeding the players. They feel it. We feel it. "Keep!.....pounding!"

It's a special ride guys, one that I am glad I am alive to live it. It's reminiscent of the super bowl run a decade ago. Would it be poetic justice if this team does reach the Super Bowl and their Opponent is just another team who is on our revenge list? It would be only fitting.

TL;DR.

This team is legit. Expect a deep run. Believe. I'm just a happy muhfugger.

    • We have without question one of the worst QB rooms in the league and your key concern is people having the audacity to be talking about it lol.
    • I saw this list crossing the screen waiting for any Panther.  Chubba, JC Horn and Hunt.  It was a crime to see so many that were not as good as these three.  ESPN is garbage anyhow.
    • Bingo!  We are on the same page.  Our scouting department was average under Hurney, but at least we hit hit it out of the park with our first rounders.  Our scouting department under Tepper's reign with his revolving doors of HCs and GMs has sucked because the scouts largely stay in place.  One or two may change every few years, but the core philosophy stays in place and I believe that to be heavily RAS influenced.    Looking the part of a football player (physical/athletic measurables) vastly outweighs putting on the tape and deep diving into his stats with our scouting department. Until we change that mindset, this team is doomed. Again, how many of us Huddlers (none of us are professional scouts) wanted McConkey over Legette? Yet, we went with XL.  Why?  RAS score, pure and simple.  If you put on the tape and look at the numbers without taking RAS into account, McConkey was the clear choice.
