Here comes a panthers fan in japan. and yes, I'm a japanese.

I've watched this forum several years, and registered in 2010.

But I've never participated in discussion. Because my english has been so poor.

But in this topic, you all are interested in panthers fans in japan and I was glad that.

So this is my first post and can i join the huddle ?

Anyway, thank you all for talking about japanese fans.

Tell us how you ended up a Panthers fan! I love hearing origin stories from international Panthers-bros.

Hi,rayzor. thank you for welcoming .

On your post, you mean One Dollar Validate to Post for newcomers, right?

I think that the reason I was able to post is that I've already registered before.

So I technically could post but you think I better follow the procedure.

Am I correct?

that's a good queston. might need someone above my paygrade(haha) to answer. i would say just keep posting until you can't. donating to St Judes is a good thing and i can't for the life of me understand how anyone could be upset over having to donate just $1 to this great cause so that they could post here and help keep spammers out.

First. Let me say I seem to be able to read and understand your post. So I do not think you need to worry about miscommunication. If you have something to say, go ahead and say it.

I would say that as you seem to already have the ability to post. You are probably good to go.  Probably because you have already registered. But I am not the boss. That is the wife. Ha

Oh...and welcome to the Huddle. And Keep Pounding.

Welcome Kent. What is Panthers fandom like in Japan if you don't mind my asking. What is the general fandom of the NFL among japanese fans? I'm guessing it's fairly niche right?

Super Bowl 38 was my first game to watch the american football on TV.

But it was '08 season when I actually started following panthers game.

I'd loved their running game, especially to strong side. Jeff Otah, Jeff King, Brad Hoover, and DoubleTrouble.

They were so powerful and hard to bring them down. I prefer run plays to pass plays still.

And the Delhomme-to-Smith connection. that hotline always made the big plays.

Ofcouse the defense was also a big part of their strength. Plays with the intensity had made me excited. And that doesn't change today.

So it was hard not to be a panthers fun while I had watched their plays.

period.Oh, it takes more than an hour to type this for me. I need studying a lot. So please easy on my slow replys.

P.S. Thank you all giving me a whole pie! I'm so happy to receive welcomes from you huddlers.

Yes. there is no pro league in japan. And very few highschools have american football clubs.

Many university player start playing football in there. They had played baseball, soccer, etc since they had been kids.

So, many japanese have never watched a football game or even touched a football either.

Therefore, the NFL fun community is also small, niche.  It's rare that you can see the NFL team's logo in japan, except Raiders' one. I don't know why, but that's popular a little bit as a fashion item.

Japanese's favorite teams?  Cowboys, Steelers, 9ers, Giants Broncos and yes, Patriots as well.

If you use Google Chrome, a right click will allow you to translate pages enough to where you can understand what they are saying.  Just thought I'd drop some knowledge yo!

Oh, I'm aware of online translators. I'm also aware of the usual results (like above). Pretty sure she wasn't "greeted in Cam Newton".

That's why I'd rather rely on someone who speaks or reads the language.

Cool. Just thought it might help others out since the literal translation is closer to English than Japanese type.
