Under Rivera, we've traditionally been a slow starting team that did better in the latter part of the year.

We didn't necessarily start slow this season, but I'd be happy to see the trend of our best performances coming late continue.

Hopefully the team can emulate the nearly complete performance they put together last week. Only issue was the OL performance. But that seemed to be an anomaly compared to the rest of the season

Hate to say it, but I don't see us improving.  It normally takes half a season to get the team playing like it is now.  This year is different because they started out that way.

Besides, how do you really improve on 9-0? :)

We didnt have the slow start at least in part due to more continuity and depth. We added pieces but had solid vets at most of the key positions. In the past it always seemed we had new guys on 1year contracts, rookies, and UDFAs who end up starting. It took time to build chemistry and teach folks our highly accountable defense. And we had a crap line and a dearth of WRs not named Benjamin or Smith.

This years defense reminds me of 2005. Both teams had tough physical players who imposed their will on the offense.

People might argue that this year we still had "a dearth of wide receivers not named Benjamin or Smith".

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
