Friday's Practice Tweets and Injury Report

The practice horn blows and there's no sign of Philly Brown, who suffered a shoulder stinger yesterday

No helmet for Panthers CB Charles Tillman, who missed Thursday's practice with a sore knee. Could mean a lot more work for Bene' Benwikere on Sunday as an every down corner.

You will not see LG Andrew Norwell (hamstring) for the Panthers again this week

Looking like both Tillman and Philly will be out on Sunday. Bene will likely play outside full time with Colin Jones taking over his role as slot CB. I would expect Funchess will see a greatly increased workload with Philly out and Norwood might even make an appearance.

Media portion of practice over. No P.Brown, C.Tillman on bike. A.Norwell, who won't play this weekend, getting in full sprints.

Good news on Norwell. Sounds like he will be good to go next week and Tillman being on a bike is promising and gives him a decent chance of playing Sunday whereas missing Thursday and Friday practices would almost definitely have him out.

Just now, Cracka McNasty said:

Probably going to be Bersin.

Bersin is more of the backup to the slot position which is Cotchery and Norwood is the outside guy. If Philly is out then I'd expect both Bersin and Norwood to be active with Norwood as the backup to Ginn and Funchess on the outside.

Devin Funchess will get the start if Philly doesn't play

Bene' Benwikere would start for Tillman at CB, Colin Jones would be nickel.

RR gives a “we’ll see” when asked if Bersin and Norwood will both be active. Bené would start for Tillman. CJones at nickel.

People have suggested that Benwikere isn't doing well as a nickel this season. Some think he'd be better on the outside.

Looks like we might get to test that theory.

I'm one of those people and I'm definitely interested to see how he does on the outside if he gets the full game there likely covering Garcon with Norman on Desean Jackson.

    • This draft is 2023 all over again, it's not hard to see. QB's who don't grade out as high first round prospects while at the same time, the following draft class looks to be loaded with elite QB prospects. Drafting a QB just because you need one (or making a bad trade to make said draft pick), when there isn't one worthy of that draft pick, is how you ruin franchises, just look at us right now.
    • I upgraded to the S24+ a few weeks back. Very happy with it.
    • LOL... Yet again proving you can't look below anything than what you see on the surface Mock drafts ARE NOT draft grades They are what people think will happen.  They are mocking teams taking QB's in the top 5 of the draft because that's just historically how drafts go regardless of the grades on the QBs.  Almost every draft expert, even those mocking QB's going high, have said time and time again that none of these QB's actually grade out as those type of picks. This is again, where I say you don't like to actually read what I have to say, because I already explained it. 2022 the exact same thing happened, mock drafts had guys like Pickett and Willis going in the Top 5 because that's just what teams usually do, but GM's listened to their prospect grades and knew they weren't worth taking that high, so they didn't. It's not to say QB's won't go that high this year, but it's to say that they aren't graded out as elite QB prospects.   And yes, I've never said I'm not a T-Mac homer. But me being that doesn't change that he will be the highest graded offensive player in this year's draft, at a position we haven't been able to solve since we lost Smitty.  Taking him makes all the sense in the world, my bias aside.
