Dominance

We all know that the panthers have won 15 regular season games in a row and that they've broken 100 yards rushing for 22 games in a row (this stat is at 24 games if you count the playoffs last year which i guess they officially do not.)

I looked back at this year statistically and found a few other nuggets that i hadnt heard anywhere.

1.  The panthers have not trailed in nearly 15 quarters.  Their last deficit was 7-3 to green bay until they took the lead with 12:55 left in the second quarter and never relinquished it.

2.  In the last 7 games, the panthers have trailed exactly 8 minutes of game time.  This is less than 2% of the game time during that period.

3.  The panthers have scored 20 or more in the first half in 3 of the last four games.

4.  The panthers have scored first to jump out to an early lead in 8 of the 11 games.  (Houston, new orleans, and seattle were the exceptions)

5.  By my math, the panthers have led over 70% of all game minutes across the 11 games and trailed less than 15% of that time. (They have led 471+ minutes of a possible 670 minutes and trailed 99 minutes total.)

I think these numbers are pretty good indications of dominance especially after the seattle game and further show how amazing the 2015 panthers have been.  I wonder how the other top teams would compare on some of these numbers.

Any other stats to back up the dominance?

I would say the team is playing much better after the bye.  They narrowly beat houston and new orleans at home in weeks 2 and 3.  I've rewatched the 30 minute condensed version of all 11 games in the last 2 weeks and the team i've seen since the philadelphia game looks so much better than the team did early in the year.

Also, i use pro-football-reference.com for all things nerdy like this as they have more stats than you can imagine.

LOL!!!

Great post @w280sax

I'll see if I can think of any other stats to add...  maybe too I can do a comparison of a few other teams, how about:  AZ, DEN, NE, MIN, CIN

Points off of turnovers is the one stat that's got my jaw on the floor right now...

In 2007 the Patriots were destroying everyone and they lost the most important game of the season. I don't know if all those huge wins played into them not being able to respond to adversity against the Giants but this Panthers team this year has had some scares and some comebacks.

Its possible that this team has the exact right mix of confidence and trial by fire combined with an organizational mind set that will finally shut Mercury Morris up.
