The Official Poll - Should Jake Start Against Atlanta...

Honestly, I do not. If we are making a quarterback change for good, now is the time to do it. Matt Moore has been on the team for three years, I don't think we can use the excuse that he does not know the playbook. Let's put him in a game that starts at zero-zero and give him a fair evaluation rather than looking at an INT he threw when the team was down by 28 yesterday. Let's see if he is our guy to build the team around in the future or if we do need to look somewhere else....it's not as if our weapons around him aren't good enough to give him a fair chance at developing. And if he happens to get hurt, Jake will have his chance at redemption.

Absolutely not. It's completely idiotic to think otherwise. Even the well spoken, completely patient, and absolutely reasonable Mr. Scot has voted against it.

Why? It's impossible for Jake to give us the best chance to win and at the same time give us the best chance to lose (see Arizona and Philly if you're curious ;) )

McCown and Moore are terrible too, but I feel that any QB.. be it pro, college, hs, could shake off an INT better than Jake at this point.

Jake's not mad anymore. He's not firey anymore. He's not going nuts when he makes a bad play, trying to get a penalty. He's just moping around, feeling sorry for himself. That's not a good leader, and he's obviously done.

Unfortunately for every sane Panther fan left, John Fox will likely start Delhomme every game into oblivion.

i wouldn't say that.

i just want to see if they do anything different. just out of curiosity.

i don't agree that jake gives us the best opportunity to win. someone who does stuff like he has the past two games that mattered doesn't give the team the best chance to win.

i'm not placing all the blame on him. the oline sucked. they don't do well against blitzing defenses. i was going to say 3-4 blitzing defenses but if the giants bring it, there's nothing that they have shown knows that they can stop it.

play calling and game planning was bad. there were a lot of bad things going on. i just want to see how they respond.

if they can't fix things then there should be a few heads rolling. right now it's a matter of seeing how many should. if they can't fix things in the next 3 weeks then the season is most likely toast anyway.

it took them 6 weeks last year to get things going on offense. they still have a little wiggle room. i just want to see what they do from here.

Give Jake until the bye week to correct his mental and mechanical issues. If we go into the bye 0-3, then we have 13 games to audition Matt Moore. I'm with rayzor, I want to see if Fox & Co. can handle this gut check and make some f*cking adjustments.

I just hate that our first round pick is gone next year.

i know i don't post here very much but i do read every day. I am sorry but i have to make my voice heard on this. Jake is done. How many times did steve smith save his ass last season? Luck alway's runs out and he is well out of luck. Trading for a quarterback after the season has begun is always a bad idea since they have a whole new offense to learn. The only possibility would be derek anderson since he has already played in a davidson offense. But let's face it, i'm no matt moore fan, but he gives the team the best chance to win.

great post, i agree 100%

    • Another thread where the Huddle melts down over a Bryce comment.  "Conversations" and "Bryce Young has been signed to a new long-term contract" are still far away from being the gospel.  For a fanbase that has watched two top-3 drafted QBs come here, and us move on, only to see them elevate their play elsewhere, I find it comical. Bryce is flawed but this org is damned if you do and damned if you don't with BY9.  Why would our GM and HC say anything other than supportive about their QB1. Yes, he's extended, but I truly do not think if he goes out and has a repeat of the previous seasons, that he is here beyond 2027. They're giving him every opportunity and surrounding him with a ridiculous amount of assets on both sides of the ball. If he continues to pitch 110 yd/ game and cough up the ball while everyone else is busting their ass, no way Dan keeps him beyond the extension.
    • Ooof, I was not a Proctor fan. I agree w/ a lot of smarter folks than me that he's more of a guard and think his weight fluctuation is going to be something to navigate. I liked Lomu a lot, but figured there would be more talented guys there at 19. I also wasn't big on bringing in a TE via the draft. If it's not a vet (Njoku) or a trade for Mayer or Kmet, I'd just as soon see what the youngsters have. No need cluttering the room with more of the same.
    • Sam Darnold & Bryce Young are two very different Qbs ..just saying the last 25 years approximately 2/3 of ALL  first round Qb's  in the NFL were or are bust.so for everyone who makes it like a Sam Darnold you have two that don't make it or are a bust
