lol @ this phillyb wanna be.

this is an internet forum dude. you're going to see a lot of mis-spelled, slang, and grammatically incorrect sentences. if you're going sit around and point out everyones mistakes just to be a douche instead of joining the conversation, you will continue to be an irrelevant poster that nobody wants to talk to on here just like you have been for the past 6-7 years.

I'm trying to improve the discourse here.  My suggestions are to that end.  Correct usage clarifies one's argument.

He's always been a playmaker while in Carolina. Cam Newton really brings out the best in him. He's basically our version of a designated hitter.

With all due respect to Cam, I credit the coaching staff more than I do the qb.  They take what he does well, and find ways to implement it in the offense.  They don't try to make him into something he is not.  He catches some short passes in the hopes that his speed will allow him to turn it in to something more, he blows the top off the defense with some deep balls and does an occasional reverse.  Of course, it does help that Cam is one of the best (and perhaps the best) long ball passers in the NFL.

Well, Carolina's staff had some tries with Teh Jimmeh and Matt Moore. Neither became starters if you recall. Crediting the coaching staff MORE doesnt make any sense to me. Clearly, Cam put in the time and effort (even before the draft). Credit where it is due, dont be ridiculous.

You want to say the coaching staff did well not trying to make him something he's not, fine, but the bottom line is that coaches are replaceable. 6'5 QB's with legs and a brain are not. Credit the coaches MORE than Cam? no, but give them a lot of credit

I am not sure what you are talking about.  Matt Moore was gone by the time Rivera got here.  Clausen never played a single snap for Rivera in a game that counted.  By the time Ginn got here, Clausen was gone, and so was the offensive coordinator who was with Rivera the first two years.

My point is that Rivera, Shula, Proehl, and company took a guy who had never shown much outside of special teams, and found a way to incorporate him into our offense.  Its not a slam on Cam, because the offense is built around him. But that is what good coaches do, they take the personnel they have and find the best way to use them.

That's just not very smart right there

Lets just trade Cam and pick up Josh Freeman then, the coaching staff will coach him up to be like Cam, right

Yes, it actually is very smart.  in fact, its fing brilliant.  Best piece of analysis in the history of mankind.

Seriously, I do wonder why some people have so much trouble giving credit to our coaching staff? Yes, Cam is a very good Qb, and may end up being one of the NFL's best ever.  But Carson Palmer is a pretty good qb, and the Cardinals couldn't find a meaningful way to incorporate Ginn into the offense even when Palmer was healthy.  So yes, our staff has found a way to make Ginn a weapon.  And they deserve at lot of credit for doing so.

Ginn gave all the credit to Cam. Our coaching staff is great, but our QB is great too
