still driving the 99 Grand Cherokee with the straight 6, its ancient and I'm starting to have to put a bit more money into it than I want, but that motor just keeps chugging along. Not very good gas mileage or fast but its a tank.

1996 laredo here, and yeah that's why im looking now haha

Seriously, pass on the Xterra. Try for a Subaru first, then move to Toyota for a four-wheel drive as your next step. Avoid Chevy, Ford and definitely Jeeps -- Jeeps are some of the worst built vehicles in America and you'll lose your shirt trying to get them fixed.

I've loved Mitsubishi's Monteros for decades, they just run and run, and climb over anything in their path if you stick with the full-sized ones. Sadly, they discontinued them in 2008 but the full-sized Motero LTDs were fantastic. I've still got a 2001 LTD bought off the lot new and I love the thing. New Mitsubishis... avoid them like the plague. They gave up any pretense to quality.

Found a nice Subaru today, I just cant drive stick, damn shame it was a mint WRX

I'd love to get a subaru but they are just a bit outside of my budget right now, I have limits

Found a good deal on a 2007 titan, but wondering if I want to deal with the MPG or not (Shudders at the thought of 18mpg highway)

also found a 2008 FJ cruiser, I like toyota and their reliability but its also a hair outside of my budget unless I get them to be really nice and drop a grand on their asking price it may be just outside my budget

Right now I'm looking at a 2010 xterra which seems to be the best all around but it's a bit of a drive for me to get to but we will see.

I'm actually looking into Toyota Sequoia... It's same as Titan but SUV...  11mpg city and 17 on highway.  But the quality is awesome.

Ok, so I need some help to either talk me into or out of this 2007 Nissan Titan, it looks like the best thing I've found for my budget, and it just seems to have terrible gas mileage, bad enough that it's about to scare me off it. Even though part of me loves the idea of a full sized truck.  That gas mileage tho.

so thoughts, should I get this thing or not?

Unless you're going to be using the truck as a truck on a regular basis (hauling stuff, etc.) you will come to resent the god-awful gas mileage. Additionally, every person you know will ask for your help when they move or need a truck for something.

yeah it's one of those it would be fun to have, but that gas mileage though, I think I found the exact vehicle that I've been looking for the whole time which is a xterra, only thing wrong is it's not the exact color I would have wanted. but I'm going to talk to the bank here in a few to have the financing, and then I'm going to play hard ball with them to see if I can get them to come down just a tad on the price.

Get a white one

Dude... I'm gonna be 60 in a month or so and every car I've ever owned has been white, black or a version of gray. This is going to be my daily driver back and forth to work, to carry my dogs around in and it's going to sit outside. I don't really care what color it is. If I need to go stylin', my wife just bought a 2015 Lexus..... white with the dark saddle interior.

    • I don't think Tyreek is a bad person to play with on the field, for sure not in the same way that Diggs is, as he's a cancer on the field with how he acts, and wouldn't take kindly to being 2nd fiddle behind T-Mac. It's that Tyreek is just a terrible person who realistically shouldn't even be in the NFL, his insane athletic ability is why his off field transgressions have been overlooked.  If he was a WR3, no team would have kept him around, it was only that he was a 1st ballot HOF level talent that kept him around. Just zero interest in having a person like that around our young WRs, that's really all it comes down to for me with him. Again, if we were true contenders this year, that changes things and I'd rather bring in the best possible players and hope it works out.  But they're trying to build something here and to do that, you need high quality people, not just great talent.
    • I think some depth at guard would be nice.
    • I may no longer have the photo of Sir Purr saved somewhere anymore, as that was taken, uniquely, at an actual game, and sometimes files go missing between computers and phones etc.  That said, I am sure I can find something similar. Maybe even better. Not too worried. I still have regular access to the account email. Change is good.
