Top 3 Reasons The Panthers Lost Today

You have some valid points but loss of Stewart had bigger impact on the L  than fans wants to accept. His ability to grind out yards and sustain drive is key to keeping the defense fresh, but it was his ability in pass protection that was  sorely missed in this game that led to stalled offensive drive.

Most are aware that we win that game with Jstew.  Still though...DE production has been down and CJ looks like he lost a step. Combine that with the loss of Benwikere and we've got some problems on D.

I'm a bit hesitant to believe they'll be able to fix these things. These aren't coaching/scheming errors that are happening, these are lack of talent issues. This team got throttled in the 4th Q last week and people thought that'd be a good wake up call, apparently it wasn't.

We we have ZERO pass rush. Ealy should be an every down player at this point. Delaire is too small and gets abused against the run so at most for the time being he's a 3rd down rusher. Allen has simply lost his speed and CJ well, he's a ghost.

Our WR's struggled to get open yesterday and with teams like AZ and Seattle looming I don't envision it getting better. Losing Jonathon Stewart was a lot more impactful than most of you thought. Most of this board acted as if CAP was going to come in and save the day, what Stewart brings can't be replaced. He is a Pro Bowler for a very good reason.

Hopefully this team comes out next week and makes a statement against a TB not playing for anything. In my opinion it's important to grab a little momentum before taking a week off.

IMO it was the vertical passing game being completely absent. Every game I feel we've been taking at least 2-4 deep shots to ginn, and that just was never attempted. Also, never saw cam hit olsen down the seam like he usually does. Also, our defense still only held then to 20 points(17 technically), our offense just forgot to show up today.

Agree, we need to give Ealy, Delair, & Horton majority of the LDE snaps.

I think Horton just got released...

I wanna see more Super Mario and Ealy myself. Delair for pass rush, and I'd like to see Cox brought up from the practice squad, provided it doesn't cut someone else.

    • I can always count on yout to put things so delicately lol. I'm still not sold on the fact that Tepper will make them keep him if they don't see him as a long term answer.
    • holy poo... this thread inspired me to keep trying to guess passwords to various alts I've created over the years and I finally got in! I pretty much accepted my fate as a lurker for the last several months because I could not remember my password. I didn't realize that new users couldn't join either, that explains things. I have been around for years under several different monikers, through the good and bad. I too always find myself coming back here even with all of the new social media options for Panther fan engagement. It's simply nostalgic.   I do get extremely annoyed with the same 5-10 posters shitting on Bryce and complaining about everything. It's unfortunate that half of them are mods and that nobody new can join because now I pretty much just come on here and see Bryce / Panther slander. There is barely any positivity to be had. We all watch this team and hang on this forum for entertainment purposes only. We have no control or say in anything. I used to be such a crazy ass fan that would argue with strangers about Cam newton on the internet and at games. Now, as a father of 3, a business owner and someone with way gnarlier life problems - I like to watch football and talk about football as an escape. Not to bitch more. I really like the direction of the team and will root anyone in a Panthers jersey. I live down the street from the Rams practice facility, Matthew Stafford is currently coaching his daughters flag football team in the same program I coach my sons. I have two highly ranked Rams staff members sons on my team. The way we beat them and had them on the ropes in the playoffs has me feeling amazing, and you would think we have the next great thing in Bryce with the way they all speak of him. I'm gonna ride that high and be a delusional fan, I hope that huddle can stick around or get fixed and perhaps I will get back to posting more now that I can log in again. I will do my best to not get banned. Keep Pounding!
    • Well, if they know Tepper wants to keep Bryce there is an an implied safety net there in case he fails. A possibility that he will be empathetic and •maybe• not fire them.  If they go against that and bring in someone else and that fails they are in a much worse spot.  IMO.  And another factor may be that after all those years of instability and musical chairs pre Bryce there will likely be a feeling of security in knowing what they have.   Kind of like settling just to keep from going through the process all over again.     IOW I think he really needs to fug up bad to lose his job and change our course.
