Peppers breakdown when it mattered:

CRA

I'm bored and the wife is out. I thought I would watch the 1st half and breakdown Peppers play for his haters who said he only played in garbage time. This is the 1st half.

1st Q - First Eagle possession

play 1 - McNabb chased out of bounds by Peppers/Davis

play 2 - Peppers tackle

play 3 - McNabb pass

play 4 - quick pass

play 5 - wildcat - attack and block focused on taking Pep out of pursuit

play 6 - quick pass

punt

2nd Eagle possession - already in fg position b/c if INT.

play 1- Peppers tackle

play 2 false start on Peters lined up in front of Peppers

play 2- McNabb pass

play 3 - McNabb pass- pocket collapsed by Peppers - gets his hands on Mcnabb who is forced to toss it out to his saftey valve for no gain.

play 4- fg attempt

every snap on the 2nd possession Peppers had a signficant impact to forcing a 3 and out and fg. Earned his paycheck that series. Defense had no control of fg b/c of INT had them in position

-Panther fumble

-at this point Philly now have 10 points after the fumble return. No production from the Eagle offense.

-Eagle punt return for TD - Eagles now have 17 pts - no offensive production

3rd Eagle possession - starts at Carolina 10 b/c of INT

only one play 1 - immediate scramble away from Peppers - quick pass for TD

Score is 24-7 at this point.

Eagle 4th possession: 7:45 left in 2nd half

1st play - pass deflected by Peppers, almost intercepted

2nd play - run play

3rd play - run play

4th play begins at Carolina 40 - Peppers is out of the game

5th play - Peppers out of gameball now at the 18

6th play- run

7th play - penalty on Carolina

8th play- penalty

8th play - shuffle pass - TD.

Panther defense gives up 1st real points of the game.

Score is now 31-7.

Peppers and his defense allowed one drive. 7pts. The rest were gained by the Eagle defense, special teams, an Eagle possession for a 3 and out fg b/c of Jake, and for 1 play of 10 yards for a TD b/c Jake gave them the ball and they started at the 10.

5th possession - Eagle territory

1st play - pass

2nd play- run

3rd play - McNabb scramble - chased out of bounds for gain by Peppers

4th play - incompletion

5th play - pass

6th play - pressure by Johnson and Peppers - incompletion b/c of pressure

-punt from Eagle territory.

End of 1st half. Garbage time begins. At this point zero tackles by Beason.

Peppers and the Panther D played a great 1st half. Giving up 1 legit drive that resulted in 7 pts. The rest of the 31 points where on the offense and special teams. As the haters know, Peppers continued his play in the 2nd half generating a turnover and blocking a kick. Now several have made statements Peppers then went on to pad garbage time stats after doing nothing early....while they praised Beason's 2nd half performance as trying to get them back into the game. Defense ended up only giving up another 7 pts in the 2nd half taking McNabb out in the process.

We might actually have a defense. Maybe the offense will let them get noticed this week (in other words, maybe Jake, Fox and the offense won't bend the team over)

This is peppers

Not really,” he replied when it was suggested the defense played well. “We gave up 38 points

“We had a chance to stop them. When they get the ball, whether it's their territory or our territory, we have to make stops. A couple of times we didn't do that.”

Uhm...this is obviously because Mcnabb sucks. You have it all wrong............if McNabb was a decent QB he would find a way to scramble and complete those passes. I say bench McNabb.

That's pretty much what every defense is going to say... They don't want anyone to score, ever. It's called passion, desire, competitive spirit... This is what everyone says Pep doesn't have. I'm not sure what you're point was in posting this but it may have backfired in your point. lol

The defense is going to give up points when they are on the field all day, on top of baaaaad field position... but yeah, they still want to make all the stops and never let anyone score.

That whole "Peppers doesn't play when it matters" arguement is a joke and always has been. You don't get 70 sacks over 7 seasons by only trying when you feel like it....

Peppers has averaged 10 sacks per season

Strahan averaged 9.4 sacks per season

Bruce Smith averaged 10.4 sacks per season

Lay off Peppers, he's one of the few guys on this team that's living up to his potential right now.

only thing I found disappointing was our 1st round pick is pretty much a non factor in this season. that happens. not really a knock on Brown as it takes time.....but it would have been nice to bring in someone who could contribute more early.....but is very early and he could knock Matty Ice's teeth out on Sunday.
