no i haven't heard anything, but its a thought. I think he is an excellent offensive mind, who does a good job with our offense. but he is overridden(sp.) time in and time out by the head coach. fox is often very conservative, and at times, runs when we should pass, and pass when we should run. Remember, this is fox's team, and of course, he was a D-Coordinator.

in other words, instead of looking outside the organization, if the Fox era comes to an end, what about Davidson I think he could most certainly handle it. he knows the team and the players. and if given control, I think he could get the job done.

i watched Inside the NFL on showtime and Warren Sapp asked Cowher point blank if he was coming back. He didnt say yes or no. meaning if he didnt wanted to he would have said so, but he doesn't want to be bombarded. It is also known that he would want more control than just head coach, so more than likely not only Fox, but Hurney would get the boot as well if Cowher came. so idk.

what is with the love affair with Matt Moore? he did good in 2007 and should have been inserted earlier. but ever since he went down last year i haven't seen anything from him. especially against the eagles backups.

When he broke his leg, they traded for Josh McCown and because he's a veteran Fox has made him #2 even though he sucks ass. So Matt has been stuck practicing with our back-ups so when he gets in the game his timing is off with Smitty and Moose. If they would just let him be the starter we will win football games, I would bet 2 box's of a dozen Krispy Kreme's on it.

well he didn't look GREAT in garbage time in 07 either. Can't judge a guy going into a game that is over....when he is asked to gamble and defenses know exactly what he has to do. Haven't seen anything since 07 b/c he hasn't taken any reps in legit situations.

why in the world would anyone at this point think Davidson is an excellent offensive mind? Unless you believe Fox is running the show and doesn't let Davidson do anything he wants.......then he is a wildcard unknown at best.

Every knows that the Head Coach gets the final word on going for it on 3rd and 4th down. and when run and pass. thats why hes the Head Coach. Davidson has done a good job utilizing the TEs and running backs in the offense. I can't explain the relationship between head coach and OC, if you dont know, then u should ask. HC runs the show. OC calls the plays.

    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
    • They will still be a playoff team but they aren't contenders anymore IMO. They won't be able to spend like they have when they went to a SB and proved he couldn't carry a win at that level with a really good team around him. Now he is going to have to do it with less to spend around him. They just locked in to being a playoff bound team that's going to be a known speed bump for whoever will represent the NFC in the SB.
    • Hmm. I think he'll live up to it. Last year, about half of his team was on IR it seems, at one time or another. Year before, Super Bowl appearance. Year before that, playoff run after being third on the depth chart and being pressed into service. Is he one of the greatest in the game right now? Nope. No chance of that. Is he in the top 10 going into next season? Pretty good chance of that.  Would 20 or more teams in this league love to have the guy as their starting QB. Most likely so. He's a good QB who can implement his coach's game plan to a T and has both the confidence of and confidence in his teammates. That'll take you a long way in this league if you've got the right cast around you, and he does.
