But then you can't fairly compare their playing styles to each other since they are completely different. Big Ben has the build like Cam and is great at extending plays outside the pocket but he doesn't run. Now both Brett Favre and Eli Manning are even harder to compare Cam with since neither of them have the build he does, though Favre was one tough S.O.B., and they don't run.

They have similar throwing styles, have decent size, and the way they stand in the pocket.

These are your big-rugged, big armed, downfield passer types.

They also have fits of inconsistency, and could make bonehead plays (Cam not so much this year, and even 2013-2014). That's why they're similar.

This year, Cam has added the consistency, accuracy component, separating himself from the other guys-for now(knock on wood).

The running stuff comes after (and of course very little from most of those guys).

To me the running part doesn't come after since it is such a key part of Cam's game compared the rest of the guys mentioned. But to each their own really. I compare players one way and others have their own way so it really just depends on who is doing the comparisons.

Let's put it this way: Cam is more similar to all those guys, than he is to Russell Wilson, RG3 or Kaepernick, despite the running.

His size, and ability to look over the defense and not move in the pocket, has a dramatic effect on everything he does, including his scrambles.

But his scrambles aren't what make him incomparable. It's the designed runs.

Now I would argue that coaching is a component here, but his success at designed runs are what make him incomparable. You're comparing him as a pocket passer to those guys. And that's fine for that dimension of his game.

It's the power running QB, along with those passing comparisons that make him incomparable.

Plus we got trey Wingo instead of boomer, fail from the start.

On qb comparisons

The only comparison I see is Elway. Different era's though

For me, although Berman is better known, I think you'd generally get better actual football conversation from Trey Wingo.
