Cam Newton disappointed me

Now do you understand? Distraction's are a... Next time just wish him good luck. Or tell him to beat the Broncos. Give him something inspirational like a letter or small gift and be done with it. Do not ask for a photo or an autograph while they are in the middle of preparation on a business trip.

This is honestly the first negative fan reaction I've heard of with Cam in my life. He usually bends over backwards for fans in public. Oh well, nobody is perfect. This is why being a celebrity athlete has to be a little annoying, the guy can be nice to fans 999 times out of 1,000 and that 1 in 1,000 will make a thread on a board like this that will rack up the views and posts which leads to the perception that he's not fan-friendly.

 

And to the troll that said handing out the balls to kids is staged, it really is not. I could trot dozens of articles about positive fan reactions with Cam and I can tell you about many others behind the scenes that didn't get articles done.

Next time you see Cam, just yell " What's up AceBoogie" I can bet ya  he will respond.  Why?  It's different and almost no one knows it's his nick name.

If this the most Cam will disappoint his fans while in the Bay Area, I'd say it would be a successful trip. You can't please everyone at any hour of the day, unfortunately.

This is an unfair exchange. You want pictures with Cam to raise your social status. Cam loses precious free time before the SB, and gains next to nothing. No wonder he refused.

Being from northern Cali we don't get the chances y'all do to run into your favorite panther players, especially a few days before the biggest game in our history. Kids love cam, mainly cuz their dad loves cam, just hated to see the disappointment on their faces, if I was just there, I would've just ordered my food and ate and moved on. But the kids was excited and it hurts to say I allowed them to let down

As a sidenote, this is why, despite having an absurd amount of Panthers memorabilia, and having met a number of Panthers players in various settings, I don't have a single autographed item. I have had far more meaningful moments where instead of being a "fan" I just treated them like regular human beings, didn't ask for anything whatsoever, and got an actual conversation and a genuine smile rather than a hurried scribble on a piece of paper.

Bro he was waiting for his food order, sense he ordered a bunch of food , he waited 20 mins after we got there , before he got his to go order, we were even eating when they finally got all his food together

Your kids will follow your cue. If you act like it's not big deal and just move on then they'll skip along beside you. If you face palm and look devastated then they're going to be upset.

In all seriousness man, it's not that he didn't want to speak to your kids, but once you do one the flood gates open up. Could you imagine running in for a bite to eat and getting hounded for pictures and autographs?

I did an autograph signing with Tajh Boyd one time and my job was to control the line and keep fans from taking too many pictures. It was one of the hardest things I've had to do because a lot of kids didn't get an autograph or a picture and I had to be the bad guy for him. He was super nice and would have signed for everyone if he could, but someone will always be disappointed.

I mean.... it is a game and all, but you know cam is feeling the pressure, this has been his dream his entire life.

And that 20 mins is part of this free time when he can hang out with his friends. He didn't want to lose part of that time. Understandable.
