Does the fun version of Cam return next season?

After the loss and his press conference walkout, Cam Newton is getting a storm of criticism from numerous sources.

He'll likely want to be out of the public eye for a while (don't blame him) but what do we get when he returns?

Will we continue to see the same smiling, dancing, defiant version of Cam Newton next year?  Will he stand up and say "hey, this is me and you can't hold me down"?

Or is that Cam done?

Could the anger that leads to fear that leads to hate that leads to suffering send Newton to The Dark Side?  Might we see him flip the switch and turn into a Liam Neeson character hell bent on a mission for vengeance (and let opponents beware)?

What do you expect?

What would you prefer?

I want to keep the fun Cam.  Honesty, we just got beat.  We had a terrible game, and generally played horrifically on offense.

What makes this team tick is the personality we have.  If we abandon the personality that got us here, then what?

I think we'll see the Panthers return to fun, but with a laser focus next year.  Now they know the worst feeling the world, we have the ability to improve and do it again.  Keep having a blast, but keep the eye on the prize.  I think that focus got a little lost this week.

I think we see the same old Cam.  Look, the guy is emotional, it's hard to bottle that up sometimes.  The emotional stuff tends to go both ways with people like that....when they're happy, they're exuberant, when they're not they can look like pouty bitches to some people (and fug those people btw).  He is who he is and I wouldn't expect him to change for anybody.

I expect Cecil Newton will sit him down like he has done after every season and go over with Cam what he did right and what he did wrong.  How Cam bounces back from this will be interesting to see.  I'm more concerned with what Gettlemen does and says at his end of year press conference.

I think the Cam that has fun doesn't put as much pressure on himself as the Dark Side Cam but if he could somehow manifest that dark energy into becoming a unstoppable force I wouldn't oppose it.

Also I wouldn't mind if that dark side manifests into a Tom Bradyesque form where they don't give a fug about your feelings and try to put up 50 points on your sorry ass for showing up on the field.

You can't be confident when you KNOW your line can't protect you and there's nothing you can do. Our offensive line got dominated to the point that they were scared. Why would he be confident?

Cam will be himself like he always has. He will dance and give balls to kids when the team is winning and he will sulk and be pissy when we don't. Its understandable really. As long as fingers don't start pointing around the locker room things will be fine.

I'm starting to notice that Cam only gets pissy when others are failing to do their jobs well. The O-Line imploded and Cam needs to take charge in those moments. He has been so conditioned to following orders that his next step is learning to diplomatically question orders that aren't working.

Ego and Bravado can be great tools for success, but learning how to put all that together makes for a hell of a learning curve

This wasn't a version of Cam. Like he said in his press conference, this is who he's always been. We just finally got to see what it's like when he's winning. So, if we go 15-1 next season, you'll see plenty of smiling, dancing, and defiance, because it's just who he is.

Except the dab. The dab is dead.

To be fair, Denver's defense is a little bit better than the Giants.  Hard to be confident when everything you've seen to that point doesn't instill it.  Guy's dropping balls, false starts, can't run the ball.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
