"Show me a good loser... "

Cam isnt a poor sport, he's just young and dumb.. he will grow and mature into a leader. He has to. Too many people are looking at him and if he continues to act like an idiot it will only hurt him. I know he will be a better man in time.. Hating to lose is one thing, but being a child about it is another. You see it a lot more in young people, but most of the time the grow up. Cam will too. That doesn't mean he's going to lose his spark, it just means he will be smarter about how he presents himself. He's never been in that situation before. I guarantee if in a couple years it happens again, he will do it differently.

You try to be a goody two-shoes, you get ripped for not caring or showing emotion.

Go with blunt honesty and you get ripped for not respecting the game and not being nice enough.

If you'all get criticised regardless, might as well say what you want and stop caring what others say.

It's no wonder why Steve Carlton, Barry Bonds, etc detested the media.

no i'm saying how he presented himself overall was being a child about it. Again, I actually like CAM he just has some growing to do is all. He's going to be a top QB in this league, and potentially a top QB in nfl history I think at some point in his career. I just wanted him to present himself better, but i'm chalking it up to him still being very very young. Will he ever be as professional as Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Joe Montana, or the slew of other elite QB's? Maybe not, but I think he can still be professional in his own way... in time. I wouldn't want Cam to be something he's not, just have a little self control even in defeat.

I just went to Church..Let the Choir say Amen!!!

So many people talked about the Carolina Panthers. So many people talked about Cam. So many people talked about Coach Rivera. But the truth of the matter is, nobody on this team got suspended for disciplinary reasons. You never once heard anybody on this team have to sit out games because of what they did. You never heard coach nor coordinator say these guys weren't coachable, so pretty much everything people say about us is fluff. They say Cam's a thug, they say players on the team are classless. We are professional athletes. Like I say, before you are quick to assume anything, what makes your way right?

I have so much more respect for him after this interview. Thank you for being true to CAMERON and not coddling the medias feelings. I'd rather my quarterback be a sore loser than to be one who can smile after. Cam is so uncomfortable with losing and I love it. Thank you, Cam. Thank you for not apologizing and staying true to you. He has the support of the whole organization.

He is a leader.  The lockerroom and fanbase has his back and bought into what Cam is selling.

You might not like his style of leadership, but he doesn't answer to you.  He answers to his teammates, his fans, and the organization.  They follow him.  That is all that matters.

What is a worse look is guys who won and decided to rub it in through the media and social media.  Guys like Talib, and TJ ward, and Wade Phillips.  There is a difference between dancing and celebrating on the field, and running to the media to talk poo about our players after a win

Since you seem concerned about optics and sportmanship will you admit that they looked even worse than Cam Newton in all of this?  And do they need to grow up?

please tell me that Cam needs to act more professional.

He went up to that man smiled looked him in the eye and congratulated him unlike the messiah manning who stormed off after losing to the saints. He never threw a teammate under the bus and never has. This is getting fuging ridiculous.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
