Same with DE. We know we have CJ, and Ealy. Outside of that, we have a bunch of kids. I think we give it a go for a quality addition. Throw some money, OR a high draft pick at it. Let the kids develop. Win Win.

We have Addison & Horton, both with pretty solid experience, along with the 3 kids Delaire, Miley & Cox   I predict we'll draft a DE to train up as a starter to eventually replace CJ.  Don't think we need to bring in any more FAs at DE at least not before the draft.

Though, I'd be happy with Coples.  Not sure if we're thinking of him at DE or DT.  Sounds like Ron thought he should be a DT for us.

Agree a FA for NB is our biggest need.

I've been banging-the-drum about having Cam throw to WRs instead of using the jugs so that we can get a proper gauge on a prospects hands.

i don't know, it just makes too much sense in my mind but Gman doesn't do the workouts that way.

Gman doesn't generally do the workouts himself. Scouts and coaches do. And there are so many of them that asking Newton to attend them all while he's technically on vacation wouldn't be practical.

Our Locker room and veteran leadership is being overrated a bit, i understand the obvious players not being brought in but the notion we should pass on some guys do to how they would mesh with out locker room is a bit much, keep in mind we just got beat by a team with about as arrogant and cocky of a locker room then most.

p.s. I'm for resigning Hardy, but the FO won't be....therefore it's dead

The SS spot is the most interesting.  The deal is that safety list just doesn't appear all that interesting; makes me think if we're looking at Jeremy Cash or someone similar.  David Bruton would be the one I'd prefer but he's close to a new deal with the Broncos.  DE and CB are primed best for a draft pick.

At safety--There is a guy who was McDermott's backup safety as the DC in Philly when he first came into the league: Quintin Demps.

He could be had for little and would be capable of starting or competing at SS.  That could be the out of nowhere type signing that DG makes.

I would say that if you are going to get lucky. Get lucky with a DE that can slide inside on passing downs. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone. At least for this year. But then again. Who knows what Gman, and Rivera are thinking?

Technically, besides NB, all our starting spots are taken. If Gman can add a few pieces of need. The draft can go as planned. Just pick a talented kid and be done with it.

Oh, and the team does love Addison. He is another of those players coming into his 3rd year. We have a bunch of kids. Bring in too many Vets, and it could back-fire. Don't bring In enough, it could back-fire. Trusting in your kids, can make you better, or it can bite you on the azz. Which way are we heading?

And Frank ain't coming back. He isn't even allowed back until Nov.

Big Frank...what a friggin' dissapointment...I had such high hopes for him. He was a beast when he was able to play. Irritates me so much I don't get to see this guy play. Big Frank and Hardy...Just imagine our DL with them still on the roster. Ugh

    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
    • Didnt Canales already say starters are playing in the pre season? either way extra reps dont hurt but im not one of those people that think playing in the pre season would have saved Bryce from an awful start.
