Stats & Records Updates for Current Panthers

Recommended Posts

Cam Newton

  • 4 TDs (Passing) - Passes Jake Delhomme as all-time franchise leader
  • 994 yards (Passing) - Passes Jake Delhomme as all-time franchise leader
  • 4 TDs (Rushing) - Passes DeAngelo Williams as all-time franchise leader
  • 130 yards (Rushing) - Passes DeShaun Foster for 3rd on all-time franchise list
  • 2,348 yards (Passing) - Enters top 100 all-time
  • 9 TDs (Passing) - Enters top 100 all-time (Assuming Andy Dalton gets 3 before Cam gets 9, Cam will be replacing Jake Delhomme in the top 100)
  • 1 TD (Rushing) - Passes Steve Young as all-time leader amongst QBs (Two TDs needed if you count Otto Graham)
  • Youngest player on top 100 all-time rushing TDs list; 15 TDs from breaking the top 50

Jonathan Stewart

  • 1,033 yards - Passes DeAngelo Williams as all-time franchise leader
  • 11 TDs - Passes DeAngelo Williams as all-time franchise leader (Though by then, that category will likely be led by Cam)
  • 7 TDs - Enters top 100 all-time
  • 510 yards - Enters top 75 all-time

Ted Ginn Jr

  • 202 yards - Enters top 10 on all-time franchise list

Kelvin Benjamin

  • 489 yards - Enters top 10 on all-time franchise list
  • 7 TDs - Enters top 5 on all-time franchise list (Ginn is 5th though)

Graham Gano

  • 27 points - Passes Steve Smith for 2nd on all-time franchise list
  • 61 points - Enters top 100 all-time (Would make him the youngest player in the top 100)

Charles Johnson

  • 2nd youngest player on top 100 all-time sack list (Behind JJ Watt)

Another interesting stat about Cam...

The next player younger than Cam Newton on the all-time rushing TDs list is Mark Ingram... Who is 17 TDs behind.

Looks like Cam has average RB stats. Sounds like a running QB to me. Maybe if he'd stop running, and concentrate on the passing game. We could win a game or two when it mattered.

Don't know whence that came. Just making fun of Ingram being behind Cam.

But I am pretty sure some folks will take a stat like that and blow it all out of proportion. Oh no, Cam is running too much, I'm telling you he will be hurt soon if we don't rein him in. He'll never develop as a passer if he keeps running like this. Silly poo to throw at Cam.

However, I seem to have drifted off course on my train of thought. So I'll just leave.

Cam Newton...the best QB and RB in the Panthers short history! Lol at being the teams all time leader at throwing TD's, passing yards, and rushing TD's.

Stew should get the 7 TD's and 510 yards, but I don't know if he'll pass Deangelo's numbers next year. The 11 TDs are a stretch, but if he's able to play 13 out of 16 games, he can reach 1000 yards.

Huh, didn't even realize this was posted here.  Lol it was your thread on reddit that made me go stat diving and put together that Cam thread where it shows he's on pace to break into the top 15 all time for rushing TDs... and damn near every RB in the top 16 are all HOF RBs.

Yep, that was me. Figured I'd share that stat since, to me, it was the most interesting. The guy's a monster.

Ted Ginn is already that high?  My goodness we've never had receivers besides Steve and Moose.  Smdh

It could be a sobering thought, that after Ginn Jr's. 2 year stretch. He is basically the 3rd best WR in team history. I know I am stretching things, a tad. But I ain't too far off. Ouch
