When I clicked it said Fox Sport Florida is one of my options.  Is that because I live in FL or is that an option for everybody?

Also, is this really any different than paying a cable company.  I would still be paying for stuff I never watch.

Not a criticism, just curious

This is going to be a no-brainer switch for me.  I was paying for slingtv at $25 per month + two extra packages at $5.00 each per month.  That brings the price to $35 per month.  For the same price, I can get the middle package and get hornets games back and a lot more channels.  I'm on the free trial now and the streaming quality appears better as well.

I also see another advantage over sling... I can stream to multiple TVs.  Hallelujah, I won't be stuck watching sofia the first.

You shut your whore mouth. "We coulda been true sisters, and ever after friends."

Directv is coming after me. Lots of offers.  Im waiting to see what google fiber does but funny how suddenly att has upped its game.

Im cutting cable tv this week and keeping Internet for now and may go with vue since multiple tvs trumps sling.

I made the move do ditch uverse  a couple week's ago. My logic was simple. I did not watch enough live TV or felt like I'd personally miss anything on live tv once the NFL season was over. I was already an Amazon prime member when I had cable and I will likely keep it.

Currently I have TWC 100 MBPS internet. Leasing their modem/router I pay $60/month.

For TV I've got Hulu Plus (commercial free version) for $11.99. I added showtime at $8.99 and will cancel after one month. In this time I watched the latest season of Homeland and the current showtime show Billions.

I also am on a free trial with netlfix for 10/month but will likely cancel before the free trial is over..

I recently just signed up for the free trial of HBO Now, which gives you every season of every HBO series ever and their current movie selection. This will be $15 a month after the free trial is over, however I will keep it going all the way through the Game OF Thrones season.

Lastly I also have Apple TV which allows me to stream ESPN, NFL NETWORK,CNN, and other similar content just not live. I can also mirror my phone/ipad with this.

I intend to stick with TWC Internet and Hulu Plus ($72/month). Until football season comes back. I will likely always carry one add premium to supplement as well. (Netflix at $10/month, Showtime at 8.99/month or HBO now at $15/month. Leaving the max i'll spend out of pocket in a month at $87. This is a $50 savings to what I had with Uverse where I had the U300 Package and only 18mbps internet speeds.

So far I am very glad I made the move. I no longer sit and channel surf desperately trying to find something I actually want to watch and no longer have to endure commercials anymore. I did record a few things on the DVR (90% was Panther games and the rest was a couple movies).

I enjoy the ability to stream almost any show (and binge if I choose) without having to wait for it air on live TV or build up on a DVR.

Once NFL season comes back I'll have some tough choices to make. I already attend every panthers home game and would only be left with 8 weeks of games to be watched on live TV(of course this can be had via antenna since I live in Charlotte). Not sure how I would feel about missing non panther games on live TV as well but for now I am enjoying the current set up I have now and the $50 in savings is an added bonus as I don't miss live tv/commercials and really enjoy the content I have available on demand now.

Imma let y'all test drive this for me...

TBQH, we could get away with the lower tier list of channels and be set for most of our shows, especially if the DVR and On Demand functionality aren't glitchy...

We currently have SlingTV (still kind of buggy), Netflix (hardly ever watch it), and a Roku with some channel apps unlocked with family member's cable accounts. With our TWC bill being about $50 a month for 200/20 speeds and the over-the-air channels, we're out the door at around $80 a month...

With the Vue stuff, I'd have to buy a Fire Stick (not gonna buy another PS3 or a PS4 @ $350) and be in the same boat I guess... around $80-$85 a month...  but could watch more stuff legally than I do now...

Honestly, as soon as I get some cat6 cable and some jacks and stuff, I am going to hard wire a centralized, networked Plex server into every room in my house for watching most of the stuff we watch, so I'll be down to just the $60 a month or so I pay for internet and Netflix.

The good thing about this is that more and more people are going to do the same thing I do or switch to cheaper services like Vue... The bad thing is that it is going to lead to data meters or something like that because (boohoo) cable and other TV and internet service providers will no longer be able to be the monopolized greedy middlemen they have been allowed to become.

2 questions and the second one I promise is for my parents benefit.

1) can this be added to roku?

2) is fox news channel streaming live? My folks (in their 70s ) love watching fox and friends in the morning and I'm trying to help them cut back costs. I bought them a roku stick and I'm trying to get them to cut off satellite completely.  The one thing holding them back is losing that one show in the mornings.   of course I would have to buy them a DVR because my dad records everything just so he can watch it and skip commercials, but that's a whole other topic.

1. No, not as far as I can tell from my initial looking-ins

2. It should be just like watching any channel on TV. Since it is a streaming service, like Sling, I would count on a 1 minute or so delay from actual broadcast streams. But again, I don't think it works on Roku.
