Frank's Full 7 round Panther's mock draft

Frank Hollywood

In past years, mock drafts were allowed in this forum at this time of year. If this isn’t allowed, mods please move. We don’t have many holes, per se, so I did a combination of BPA and need for depth. You could make an argument to swap the 2nd and 3rd round picks, as they’re both expected to go around the same time, but I think the 3rd round pick has a better shot at sliding. You could also have a realistic scenario where we trade back, take a player and trade back up with that extra pick to acquire the 2nd and 3rd picks I have listed.

Let me know what you think, all feedback is welcome!

Emmanuel Ogbah*, DE, Oklahoma State

Kevin Dodd and Shaq Lawson will probably be gone by the time we pick. Good. I like Ogbah better and think he will have a very solid NFL career. Long arms, high motor and very powerful. NFL comparison is Charles Johnson, which ironically is who he will be replacing.

2. Pharoh Cooper*, WR, South Carolina

In my opinion, Pharoh Cooper is the most underrated slot receiver in the draft. What he has accomplished with weak QB play tells a lot. Also a return man who is shifty and fast. Good vision and balance and doesn’t always go down after first contact. Didn’t have a blazing 40 time, but plays faster. Compares to Randall Cobb by some scouts.

3. Le'Raven Clark, OT, Texas Tech

Great physically, great agility and nimble feet, but extremely raw. This guy will be an absolute steal if he lasts till the end of Round 3. He has everything it takes to be a starting left tackle in the NFL, but hasn’t put it together yet, which is the reason he could slide to Round 3.  Definitely not a year 1 starter.

4. Eric Murray, CB, Minnesota

A potential starter with a little work, and a great find in Round 4 of the draft. Good size and speed and it is said he would fit best in a zone scheme.  Solid in run defense and blitzing schemes. Voted team captain due to his locker room presence and commitment to the game.

5. Kevin Byard, SS, Middle Tennessee

Named team captain and can be seen on film lining up the defense and calling plays. Good size, but lacks physicality when tackling. Plays special teams as a return man as well as on field goals. Could definitely use some coaching up, but a good find at the end of Round 5.

7. Drew Kaser, P, Texas A&M

Bringing in a punter to compete with the Canadian standout would be a good idea. This guy is one of the top Punters in the draft with a 47.4 yard punting average. His career long is 76 yards and he had 17 punts over 50 yards.

Love Ogbah. Don't know Cooper.

Think Clark will be a high 2nd, possibly 1st.

I think he is the least likely to be there where I have him mocked more than any other player in my mock draft. He also has the most mixed reviews though. While some have him as a future dominant left tackle, others are labeling him as the most overated tackle in the draft. I think he pans out and would replace Oher at some point, but it will take a few years of development. We may have to trade up to get him. Thanks for the feedback.

Pharoh Cooper is always the BPA left for me when I do that on the clock mock draft game. I looked him up and his twitter is @KingTutt_chdown. I want him.

If drafts were based on Twitter handles he may go #1 overall.

Excellent..... but not realistic. Completely needs based pics. You know Dave is going to throw us a curve ball in there somewhere. He's probably going to draft a TE in the 1st or a DT in the second or maybe a linebacker on the 3rd day.

If that's the case, all mock drafts are for entertainment value 100%. Which is fine, it's the offseason and things are slow.

Not to miss out on the fun, here's my draft picks...with no pictures and probably a lot less thought and analysis:

1. Hunter Henry - TE, Arkansas (total package at TE)

2. Carl Nassib - DE, Penn State (fast but raw. Could be great after a season or 2 mentoring CJ)

3. Javon Hargrove - DT, SC State (a fast fast fast sack machine)

4. Sean Davis - FS, Maryland (this guy plays with a mean streak)

5. Cody Core - WR, Ole Miss (big, strong receiver...G-man loves em)

7. Jordan Walsh - OG/C, Iowa (would go higher if he adds  mass/strength, and we have the best strength coach in the NFL)

I would be happy with the first two players. I though Nassib might slide a bit past the second round. I've heard good things about Hargrove and Sean Davis but don't know a ton bout them.

    • They traded away their 1st next year also to get James Pearce Jr. Really hope this blows up in the Falcons face. I don't care how it happens, I just want to win the division this year. Zero sympathy for other team's issues. And our pass rush looks like it needs all the help it can get.
    • I would have released him this season, tbh and worked with Christensen out there.
    • 10/10. We're due for some good luck, and I think this team is much better than what we've had the last 2 seasons. Defensive injuries could derail us b/c our depth there is still questionable. Still worried about the pass rush getting pressure without blitzing. Pleasantly surprised by the secondary and run defense.  Dan Morgan has done a lot to resurrect this roster from the deplorable position Fitterer left it in by showing some scouting chops with hitting on these guys drafted in the later rounds or UDFAs. Lathan Ransom & Corey Thornton both look like they fit this scheme and the NFL isn't too big for them.  I'm as excited for the rookie trifecta of T-Mac, Scourton, and Princely as I can remember. On paper, this offense is the most talented since 2021, maybe 2017, and maybe 2015. None of that means this team will produce any better, but this team has offensive talent & depth like we have rarely had in team history. If you don't believe me, go Google it. We've had some awful offensive collections overall in many years, to varying degrees mitigated by superstar talents like Steve Smith, Christian Mccaffrey, or Cam Newton.  I honestly think the collective offensive talent in 2025 may be better, but Cam was so otherworldly in 2015 & 2017 that he covered any flaws. Seriously, though, Cam doesnt get enough love for 2017. I think that may have been his best season. In general, Cam doesn't get enough respect IMHO. Both in college and in the NFL, Cam took teams that without him would have had no chance and won. True definition of a guy who elevated his team. To be clear, I am in no way am I saying this team will be better than 2017 or 2015. My point is that the offensive talent is there on offense if Bryce can unlock it.  I've been a Bryce supporter, but there are no excuses not to perform with this group. This isn't the disaster we gave him in 2023 or a new scheme like in 2024 where I think he hadn't mentally removed from his rookie season to start. I dont know how you couldnt be excited about that. And we still compete in a division that isn't insurmountable. I got got in 2023 like most of us in buying into the team propaganda, but in general, I think I'm pretty realistic about the team. I knew in my heart we would be bad last year. I wasnt expecting the defense to be that bad or Bryce to start off that poorly, but I had no expectations whatsoever for making the playoffs. And I genuinely think we will be competitive all year this season. I think we win 8-9 games and compete for the division. I think the ceiling is 11 wins, and the floor is 7. The good news is after next week, we will all be proven right or proven wrong. Keep Pounding!
