Mike Goodson - The Next DWill?

And yet we're already making comparisons to a 1,500-yard rusher?

;)

if we can do one we can do the other.

i like the kid but he's got a lot of growing to do. a whole lot more than williams did when he started. the kid has a lot of talent but he has some serious maturity issues.

williams was far more polished when he got here.

give goodson some real game experience and a year or two and maybe. right now he just has a lot of potential and a lot of talent. that doesn't very often translate into success.

How do you get that he has a lot of growing up to do, or that hes immature? Because of that one half assed throat slash?

that was an indicator of some of it and there is some other stuff. he had problems in college and also the way he responds to screwing up. the captain is going through some of the same things. long memory and beating himself up about it.

it's no real slight on him. he's only 22. some 22 year olds are mature beyond their age and others aren't. some take longer to mature. he falls into that category. doesn't mean he will stay that way.

    • I understand why people say things like it could be worse in relation to Tepper but it just doesn't jive for me. Are the optics bad? Yes. Would I want her to be the owner of my team? No. But I mean she's only been owner for a year and the Colts overall are a better run organization. As far as I know they've also never had the distinction of having the worst win percentage in all of professional sports either. Tepper has owned this team for 8 years and about the only thing that has been consistent has been the ability to continue to find different ways to achieve new lows. Even now people are saying things are different yada yada but we said these same things at certain points under Rhule Fitterer and Reich. I'm going to wait to see how the rubber meets the road this upcoming season before I make any strong conclusions about anything in relation to the longevity under this franchise going forward.
    • This is a toughie because I wonder what a guy like Canales thinks about redemption stories for addiction issues. Also, I think this is a case of 1 player getting caught, and not being naive enough to think this isn't more common in college than we think. I'd toss a 3rd rounder out there. 2026 is essentially a redshirt season regardless, so he's not taking over for any NFL QB next year. Best case, he's ready to go in 2027 if we pass on Bryce's extension. Worst case, he's our future backup QB2. Kid has the tools to be an NFL QB. I do think we could somehow land a '26 3rd round pick back in a trade. Our past years' third rounders are: Brazzell Princely Wallace DJ Johnson Matt Corral All this to say, I could see a team like the Jets going w/ a 2nd. They have three FRPs next year.
