hope I post this right, while trying to get the above image out of my head, but I've read from 2 different sources that we don't like Alexander out of Clemson.  He might not even be on our draft board.

Guy seems like a turd.  Not surprised and actually very happy to hear.

Alexander doesn't have the size we like....

but he is going to be a beast

forced to trade-up in Round 2 to get one of the three remaining CBs available (MacKenzie Alexander, Xavien Howard, Kendall Fuller), I will simply assume we will stay put

I'm not sure those are the only good CBs available.

This CB class seems quite deep.  What about players like Harlan Miller, Cyrus Jones, Zach Sanchez, Deiondre Hall?  I'm sure I'm forgetting a few....  Personally I think there are some good CBs likely to be found in rounds 3 and even 4 or 5.  So I'm not so stressed about grabbing a CB tonight.

I'd rather see us get either a very good offensive talent (Shepard or one of the Henrys, for instance) a very solid safety (Cravens?) or a pass-rushing DE.  Those are the positions I think have the best value in the 2nd...

[Sorry, I quoted you and commented too soon.  I realize by the players you then go on to mention as round 3 prospects that we're basically on the same page.  Sorry... sleep deprivation has me very tired given the 5 hour time difference which had me up from 12 - 2 a.m. my time to try and follow the draft last night (I confess I fell asleep before the Panthers picked and only woke up at 5 again after our pick was long done...).  So ... feel free to ignore my comment.]

I listed Miller, Jones and Sanchez as options in the 3rd round... Did you only read my 2nd round options?

Yeah, sorry.  I jumped the gun.  I sort of zoned out while reading your comment.  Just gave you pie.  Agree with all you wrote.  Sorry, just too tired.  Need to get some sleep soon if I'm going to follow any of tonight's draft or the Hornets game.  It really is tough being 5 hours later than the East Coast right now....

They are--to me, there were 2 elite CBs and there are about 12 in the "above average category, depending on what you need.  We need a starter,  but I think it is also a time to maybe grab depth too.

I think we are going to draft either a WR, DE, or SS in the second, a CB in the third--based on where I expect value to be.  Today is going to be the fun day....

I don't see it. I hope fans don't put that kind of pressure and expectation on him right away.

He reminds me more of Hines Ward more than anyone.

Hines Ward...have to disagree there.  Faster, shifter than Ward.  Very competitive like SS so I agree there.  Shepard will be very good.

    • I don’t think people are saying that picking up the option s a call for the pitchforks. We would have had to do things differently a couple of years back to make declining the option a valid move. We didn’t and here we are. People largely accept that. The patter it adheres to, reinforces the nausea we feel when the idea of an extension, and at top of the market no less, comes up.  One that he hasn’t shown he deserves.   Same as he did not deserve to be drafted 1.1. Look at Pavia and what really is the difference? Bryce is a nice guy and Pavia is an asshole lol. They are both no margin for error non day one talents. One went undrafted.
    • We hate losing. I don't know Bryce to hate him. His play as a QB, I absolutely hate. It's just not good enough. If there were a lottery held to select the order and all 32 starting QBs could be drafted as the starting QB for whatever team selected them, how long do you think it would be before Bryce's name was called? Top 10, top 20, bottom 8? Think about it.  For me, having never seen back to back games with franchise QB level performance in 3 years tells me what I need to know. We still need to be looking for our solution at QB.
    • Dude, I'm saying the Cardinals have proven they know nothing. Not saying keeping Bryce is the best choice long term, just saying that we've made the right move for this moment in time.  But man, the Cardinals are never a blueprint for success. Haven't been since they were in Chicago.
