First year DG didn't draft a RB

A vote of confidence in our RB group of Stewart, Tolbert, Fozzy, CAP, and Wegher, or just how the cards fell in the draft?

2013: Kenjon Barner

2014: Tyler Gaffney

2015: Cameron Artis-Payne

Did he draft RBs in '14 and '15 because the one he drafted the previous year didn't work out? And it was clear they didn't work out by the end of their first season (Gaffney was on the Pats' IR and it was pretty clear Barner didn't fit Shula's offense very well and mainly is too small to play in the league). If so, does this mean the team believes CAP could take over for Stew in the future? Or just having confidence in Stew this year and looking to the stacked RB class of '17 (I don't follow college ball outside of draft season so I have no clue if this is true, but I heard that quite a bit this year)?

Just looking back at the 2013 draft: The WR class wasn't too deep, while 2014's was projected to be phenomenal. Everyone wanted Dave to grab a WR in 2013, but that didn't happen until 2014, when the time was right.

Same could be said for RB's. Not many stand out talent this year as far as RB's go, while next year I believe is projected to have quite the bit of decent backs coming in the draft. Maybe Dave strikes his move then, like he did in 2014, when the quality is better?

Yes.

    • Burns quit on his team, full stop. Burns was and continues to be a liability in the run.    JC has never looked this bad before the concussion. He always was a very solid tackler, from what I remember.  I’ll take the overall body of his work over his current down stretch. I’ve never had to question his heart. The FO has royally screwed up roster management in many other deals but retaining Horn continues to be the right move. He will be back to form next season.
    • I get it. I was making a joke that we have zero chance of winning.
    • Did Bryce play bad? Yes. Did the whole offense play bad? Yes.  Was Canales bad with his playcalling? Yes. Now with that being said I don't put this loss solely on Bryce Young. The seahawks are a much more talented team than us and to win in a scenario like that you need some luck which we didn't have that day.  Bryce has shown this year that you can win with him at QB but the problem is that he doesn't have the ability to elevate the rest of the team around him. Bryce was a number 1 overall pick who we traded a haul of assets to get going into the end of his 3rd year the expectations need to be much higher than 54 yards passing.  It's been nice to get some wins this year and have a chance to make the playoffs and Bryce has played a part in that but at some point the front office needs to see that you can't keep giving Bryce a pass for these low production games.
