Point?

Look, I get it. You guys are trying to build up Garrett with hyperbole but there's a reason why we brought in Hill last year, and why we brought him back despite tearing his ACL.

Size + Speed

Igo, himself, referred to him as an x-factor or wildcard. Garrett, no matter how hard you try to counter point, doesn't possess Hill's ability to go from 0-60 in such a short time.

For the 100th time, Hill > Garrett (in regards to speed). Long strides don't count. Benji has a long stride too but he's never gonna burn any DB the way Ginn and Hill can.

All the speed in the world doesnt do you a damn bit of good if you cant hold onto the ball when it is thrown to you.  It would be so nice to have a couple of sure handed wr s for Cam to throw to instead of the fumble fingered guys we have.

QB: C. Newton / D. Anderson / J. Webb

RB : J. Stewart / C. Payne / B. Wegher

FB:  M. Tolbert

TE:  G. Olsen / E. Dickson / B. Sandland

WR:  K. Benjamin / D. Funchess / K. Garrett

WR:   T. Ginn /  P. Brown

LOT:  M. Oher / D. Williams

LOG:  A. Norwell / A. Silatolu

OC:   R. Kalil / G. Gradkowski

ROG:  T. Turner / D. Yankey

ROT:  M. Remmers / D. Williams

  •  Yankey over Scott
  •  We resign Amini because he's cheap, experienced and knows the offense.  Just needs to stay healthy.
  •  Byrd stays on the PS for another year, will have limited snaps in the preseason
  •  Garrett over Hill
  •  Dickson isn't safe.

LDE:  K. Ealy / M. Addison

LDT:  S. Lotulelei  / P. Soliai  / K. Love

RDT:  K. Short / V. Butler

RDE:  C. Johnson  / R. Delaire / R. Cox

OLB:  T. Davis / D. Mayo

ILB:  L Kuechly / J. Cash

OLB:  S. Thompson / A. Klein

LCB:  R. McClain / D. Worley

SS:  T. Boston / D. Marlowe / J. Cash

FS:   K. Coleman / C. Jones

RCB  B. Benwikere / J. Bradberry

NB:  Z. Sanchez / C. Jones / B. Benwikere

  • Ealy over to the left side
  • We keep 5 DT's & 5 DE's.  Our 4th quarter collapses are the reason why.
  • Cash makes the team and replaces Ben Jacobs.
  • Cox over Horton
  • Miley, another year on the PS.
  • McClain makes the roster.  Young could end up on the PS again.

Factor in the 3 special team players and I'm at 52, so that leaves one spot available. Could mean we rock 6 WR's, sign a cheap vet safety or tackle, but my guess atm will be a running back.

A few of us asked a question I don't think I've seen answered yet in this thread.

Most of us (myself included) have eliminated Teddy Williams from the roster projection.  But, if we do that, who among the projected players would fill the role of Gunner in special teams?

In 2014 we were hurt badly by a lack of speed on special teams.  That became a BIG focus of the 2015 offseason.  Can we afford to get rid of Teddy Williams and still have enough speed on ST?

I would imagine some of the rookies and undrafted  guys will have a shot at ST's and more than likely will be required to play ST.

Was just watching the latest Panthers' video mailbag.

In response to a question, Max Henson claimed Bersin still is eligible for the PS??  I wonder if that's maybe under the exemption where you can have one (or 2?) players over the normal limit?  I was surprised by this news.  If Bersin is indeed PS eligible, it definitely becomes hard to see him get a spot on the 53.  But I could see him possibly making the PS as backup since he knows the offense so well.

Remember, if you disagree you cannot simply add in a player without telling me who you would take off. Many folks like to do that and pretend there is no player limit. View full article

I disagree. If we add Percy Harvin, Aldon Smith, Anquan Boldin, Vince Young, Ditka, and Jesus, now that's a roster.

People keep talking about Key and Byrd but the has to be filled with SP players.  Cash has a chance.  We will keep maybe 5 to 6 WRs.  Key or Byrd has to beat out someone Gettleman and the staff trusts.  We are keeping all the drafted CBs but I would seriously NOT get rid of McClain.  As a third TE Sandland is in decent shape.  I won't do the replace game but that many S is crazy.  Cash can play S in a need.  I like Cash making the team and someone is fighting for the 4,5 and maybe 6 WR spots

And quoting myself I will say definitely 5 WRs...Webb allows that luxury.  I would keep no one that can't play on the field.  We are too talented for that.

I really hope McClain is not a starter. Also where is JJ going?
