Just Moved to the Ft. Lauderdale/Miami Area

Any Huddlers live around here?

The humidity is killer and it isn't even really summer yet. Hoping I can adjust from the LA weather that I was spoiled with previously.

Live in the Tampa area.  Use to live in CO.  I wish I had better news but there is no adjusting.  Humidity makes every type of weather worse and there is nothing you can do.  I always get depressed in the summers because I am inside all the time despite being one that loves the outdoors.

My suggestion is to make sure you have a good AC unit and get very comfortable with HBOGO, Netflix, or whatever you use to occupy your time inside.  Hibernate inside until mid-January or so when things become more bearable.

Also, when you do venture outside make sure you are strategic when picking a parking slot.  You cannot pick one in the shade.  You need to predict where the shade will be when you are leaving and park there.  Walking through the hellish heat only to open your car and get the same feeling you get from opening an oven is an awful feeling.

Oh yeah, and alcohol.

There is no getting used to the humidity. I moved to NC from San Diego in 1992 and I still haven't adapted. I've though about the Gulf side of Florida, but what you're describing is exactly why all I've done is thought about it.

What happened to UCLA? I thought I would be able to see you a couple more times with the Angel City Riot. I hope you got some good offers down there!

Gulf side is actually worse than the Atlantic side.  If you do not like humidity then do not come here.  Whether it is in FL or another state, the Gulf and its warm water sucks balls.

Loved my time at UCLA but got the call back up to The League. Working for a certain team in South Beach and today was my first day. At least they are in the AFC!

    • I think we pick it up and then someone else ends up emerging as the QB next year and we end up cutting him in year 5 and eating it.  That would be the most on brand thing to happen.
    • Evero has his faults, but even in that loss, the team only gave up 20 points. Your post gets to the heart of the matter. We are not a talented team on defense at this time. Some of our younger guys may develop w/more playing time, but for now we have no impact players at LB or EDGE. We could really use a ball-hawking S on the back end as well. We have exactly two players that have to be accounted for on every play, D. Brown, and J.Horn. Mike Jackson has been solid. The other starters would probably be backups on most the upper echelon NFL teams. We really can't expect this team to a Top 10 defense with such a lack of talent. All things considered I've been somewhat impressed with how much better they have played this year.   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-points-per-game   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-average-team-passer-rating We are in the top 15 in terms of points allowed per game (22.6) and top 12 in defensive passer rating (88.9). And, we are doing this without a formidable PASS RUSH. Even our rushing defense has improved. We are #16 in rushing yards allowed per game (116) compared to 179 per game last season. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-rushing-yards-per-game I wouldn't cry if Evero moved on after the season, but his defense isn't the biggest worry for our team.
    • The funny part is she looks older and not in a good way...
