This isn't surprising after last week's news of how bad Palardy was looking.  Glad we're addressing this sooner rather than later.

Nortman's average punt went 45.4 yards last year. Scifres averaged 45.3

Nortman got 4 years, $8.8 million from Jax. We're probably paying Scifres $1 million vet minimum.

And for reference, the bottom 5 averages were in a range of 41.6 to 43.6. The top 5 averages were in the 47.2 to 47.9 range

Its not about booming it as far as you can. Its about consistently hitting a spot on the field where your kick coverage can get down tje field and be in position to make a play. 

 

If i remember correctly, that was an issue with Nortman  he wpuld out kick the coverage
