Opposing fan attendance - a prediction thread

Will be a decent amount of NC State turned Charger fans when they come down due to Phillip Rivers. Even though the 49ers suck, they'll still have pretty good attendance.

I think we're getting better, but there's still a ways to go. Opposing fans better not bring any signs into the stadium, though. Cam's not having that poo.

I gave you pie for your avi.

I like your post too.

When the 9ers played here in the playoffs in 2013, there were tons of 9er fans. Tons! They took over the Observer deck and were everywhere. There was an audible "DEFENSE" chant when the Panthers were on a 3rd and short attempt. Let's go 9ers! Could be heard loud and clear.

IMO, 9er fans are pretty fairweather.  Given that Kap will likely be gone and the team not doing well, I doubt their turnout will be better than others this year.

I've been going to Panther games for 20 years, home and away, including playoffs.  There are certain teams that travel well (Packers, Cowboys, Giants, Steelers) everywhere, not just BOA.  It doesn't matter where they are playing, their tradition runs deep and their fans will show up.  BOA will be 75%+ Panther fans for all of this years home games, assuming we don't regress much.

On a related note, what has been exciting is our rep at away games.  Five years ago ... it would be difficult to find Panther fans at away games.  Now ... partly due to the Huddle and Riot ... we show up in force.  The Falcons must hate it when the Panthers come into town.  Last years Jaguars game was awesome with Panther fans in the hot-tubs.  That has gotten much better over the years.

Panther fans are not as bad as many think ... and better than fanbases for many other teams..

Ya I was at the game in ATL last year.  Place was packed with Panther fans.  I still think too many BofA PSLs are controlled by brokers though.

Brokers ... really?  Seems like a large investment for a ticket broker when they can purchase / resell tickets.  I don't know much about the brokers so you are probably right.  In my particular section, there seem to be a lot of companies that have PSLs, and they distribute the tickets to customers / employees.  I think that bleeds into employees choosing tickets for their team ... assuming their team is not the Panthers.  With the exception of one family, most of the folks sitting around us are different each game until the playoffs come around.  I love the seats but kinda sucks having different people each week.

I took my 11 year old. It was a Christmas gift. He had to endure the loss and the walk out. It was a character builder for sure lol.

Really it is about respecting the fans. Not booing them. As it is the team you should be against. But at the end of the day, show your respect. As well as the fans. That need to have an enjoyable experience. Not an unpleasant one.

I was chatting with a guy here one night a few years back at a bar. We were talking about what we do for a living. Well this guy was a ticket broker. Got tired of his old job and got into the secondary ticket market. Concerts, comedy shows, wresting, you name it.  He owned upwards of 20 PSLs at BofA, can't remember exact number, and had no interest in attending obviously. He said there are plenty just like him. Blew my mind. He ate the revenue loss during our down seasons but makes money when we are playing well.  He even said he gets discounted pricing from the Panthers. That part I wasn't really buying but everything else was legit.

If by character builder, you mean that it built that pure unadulterated hate for falcons fans in him

I agree. As long as opponent fans show their respect I'm cool. I went to the Texans and Eagles game last year. The Houston fans I came across were very classy. They even gave props to Cam after scoring his TD flip. Philly? Not so much. Nothing but taunting, teasing and whining brats.

Yep anytime they ticket a loss on tickets it essentially just reduces the taxes they pay that year. If he only owns 20 then he is a small time player.
