nobody is touching the saints for the division title.

atlanta will be able to make a stronger push for a wildcard than we can mount at this point and the odds of us getting the second wildcard over other teams in the NFC after starting 0-2 with this soft D is laughable....

SO FACE IT PEOPLE.... WE ARE NOT GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS. OUR PLAYOFF CHANCES ARE OVER AFTER WEEK TWO!!!!!!!

on yesterdays game....

nice job running the ball. it was great to see stewart do so well.

while jake didn't have 5 or 6 turnovers, he did force the ball into tight coverage to smith which is so predictable. he had king wide open on the other side of the field but didn't look anywhere except to smith and blew our chances at a win.

jake is our best shot now, but that doesn't mean he gives us any shot at the playoffs. we need a QB change while we still have the running game we do. i hope we don't waste the next few years of this running game with jake at QB.

so no point in playing the season, eh?

no point in watching.

no point in posting since it has already been decided by super-intelligent and highly perceptive psychics that the carolina panthers will not be in the playoffs.

please, enlighten us more about this team and it's future.

give us all more reason to awe you.

and thank you for keeping me and many others from wasting time watching this season.

be sure to send a memo to the team, btw. they might be interested knowing there is no point to them trying anymore this season. it might save them some stress. i know i'm relieved.

if things continue the way they are then we don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

good thing with that is we would be that much closer to having a coaching staff that will take this team to the next level.

i just don't think the season is shot after two losses. still 14 more games to play.

Sweet do you have the rest of the games recorded already?

WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! Have you accounted for spoiler team upset wins late in the season or even us coming out and dominating through luck and improvement? I'd bet not since this is just another predictable, boring, and poorly thought out knee-jerk reactionary thread.

This is an easy one, the Saints AND the Falcons are far superior teams compared to what we have. We looked old and worn out the last two weeks. We paid Peppers $1 million a game to do what.. 2 tackles against the Falcons? Our RB's still look decent but a majority of the team needs to be replaced. Face it we're in the decline just like the Bucs were last year.. we WERE great, it's time to rebuild and take our lumps.

You are one of the few islands of sense right now. Hopefully we thrash Dallas and people get their heads on straight.

sooo...game one and two are an exact picture of what the team will look like the rest of the season.

i think i'm getting a good idea of how this psychic thing works.

thanks for the help.

Hard to get excited with our record of inconsistency. Can you honestly say that you see Fox being able to change the direction of this team signifcantly enough to give us a snowballs chance in hell of making the playoffs with the schedule we have in front of us. History says no.

    • So the last guy who had the job got hired by his former team directly into a role he has no direct experience in?
    • Hard to pass up millions for a couple of days work per week for a coaching gig in the NFL that is 60-80 hours each week during the season and a more relaxed 50 hours a week during the off season. Yeah, I'd love to see him as our DC but hard to see him giving up the cushy job there if he gets it. And he's going to be a great commentator for the network.
    • Really, I think that is where negotiations come in. If you've got a QB getting you to 10 wins but statistically he's not a great performer, then you say look you can take $22 million or you can try it on the market. Because let's face it, out there, any leadership skills that we're seeing aren't going to be on the table, it's just going to be performance and that lands him in the QB2 market, which is much, much less lucrative (although any of us would love that money).  No one is saying that Bryce will be a $50 million QB, barring something short of a miraculous jump. I'm just saying that if we are winning somehow with him at the helm, then it would be fuging stupid to dive back into the rookie pool all over again. Let's say we do hit the 10 win mark, heck, let's call it 11 and a second round in the playoffs. I think we can all say that would be a really uplifting result and one that should be doable if we have good play. What do we do then? Here's what I would offer if I were Morgan and Tepper. $25 million a year for 3 years, each year with up to $10 million in incentives for touchdowns, wins, playoff depth, being under 10 interceptions, completing a full season, passing yardage milestones, taking less than 15 sacks. Look, Bryce isn't a Ferrari, he isn't a Corvette, or a mid-level BMW. He's probably a new Toyota Sienna that will definitely get you somewhere and bring the whole team along with it, no fuss but not a lot of pizazz.  And really, it's about the destination, not about what drove you there.
