You could tell it wasn't good the way Panthers DT Chas Alecxih pounded the turf when he went down. Coach Ron Rivera confirmed after practice that it didn't look good for the second-year player out of Pittsburgh, who suffered a knee injury during a blocking drill. "They were examining the (left) knee and they'll do further examination tomorrow morning, but the prognosis right now is very dark. The young man was having a great camp, and that's always a disappointment, too, when the guy really worked very hard and was earning the opportunity.''

Believe it or not, but all teams need a chas on the team. What he brings to a team is truly unknown by public, but very valuable. No one knows how important a willing scout team player is. Chas played OT against the 1st team defense and DT against the offense, mimicking each player form the opponent in that weeks game. Plus chas had every white player analogy going for him too. I still remember him on hard knocks, came off as a good dude chasing a dream with lesser skills.

Which is why I said I intended no disrespect.

And which is why I said he was there to fill out numbers for practice and I don't really see how that's any different from what you said above, just more succinct.

Hill & Garrett are done IMO.  We may just stick with five receivers, Ben, Fun, Ginn, Brown, & Byrd with Bersin on PS or Bersin makes the team as the 6th receiver and Norwood heads to the PS.  I honestly would rather keep five and through in an extra DB.

Makes sense.

Garrett is pissing me off. It's got to be a concentration issue. This is one of the rare times where the critics are right about one of DG's UDFAs. Usually our top 2 UDFAs in the offseason make the team so this is rare for us. Hopefully it's just mental and he can get over it by the time Thursday comes. He had all the tools to be great, but can't do anything if you can't hold on to the ball.

BTW, I think it would be a good time to see Marcus Lucas back at WR. I don't think he can make it this year as a TE on our squad. He was the top receiver last preseason and he has a better chance making it there this year.

I rather carry a Extra FB/TE instead.
