Cuts, who don't you want to lose

I'm pretty sure Cash & Byrd are safe for the 1st cuts, and in fact I think both have a very solid chance of making the 53.

Wegher would be a shame to cut, but I see no way we're keeping him with Tolbert looking great and CAP looking solid, and Fozzy being Fozzy - some good, some bad, but generally consistent & a known quantity.  I think Wegher will get put on the PS, and think that's why we're not playing him much.  Don't want him to flash and give teams a chance to remember him and thus poach him from the PS.

Here's my guess at 1st cuts:.. though some of this may depend on injuries and new signings. Obviously we still need enough young guys to play game 4 of the preseason to keep our starters fresh & healthy

C Matt Masifilio

CB Teddy Williams

DT Ray Drew

DE Tom Lally

G  Tyler Larson?

LB Jared Barber, Jared Norris

RB Jalen (Scoot) Simmons

S, Travelle Dixon,  Trenton Robinson (to IR)

T David Foucault

TE Eric Wallace

WR LaRon Byrd, Stephen Hill

P Mike Scifres

Looking at our current roster, knowing we have to drop to 75, currently at 91 so 16 players, here's my prediction...

Jalen Simmons, RB

Avius Capers, WR

Stephen Hill, WR

Eric Wallace, TE

Matthew Masifilo, C

David Foucault, OT

Tom Lally, DE

Ray Drew, DT

Larry Webster, DE

Jared Barber, LB

Jared Norris, LB

Travell Dixon, S

Mike Scrifres, P

Reese Dismukes, C

Jordan Rigsbee, OT

Leonard Johnson, CB

Trenton Robinson  and Chas Alecxih to IR and maybe even Rakim Cox

Do players who go to IR count as cuts?  I wasn't sure.

I'd forgotten that some of these guys were even on the team.

    • I don't do locks lol. I just bet +1000 and up and can hit at a decent rate. Combine ml winners and team shots on target. Do better in champions league than anything else
    • Did not expect this from national media. https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/10-best-nfl-defenses-2026-texans-seahawks-broncos 10. Carolina Panthers   Key additions: OLB Jaelan Phillips (FA), LB Devin Lloyd (FA), DT Lee Hunter (draft) Key losses: DT A’Shawn Robinson (FA) Don’t be surprised to see the Panthers, who ranked 15th in points allowed and 16th in yards given up last season, make the leap into the top-10 conversation in 2026.  They added two of the marquee defensive free agents in edge rusher Jaelan Phillips and linebacker Devin Lloyd. Cornerback Jaycee Horn is coming off back-to-back Pro Bowl seasons. Carolina lost starting defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson in free agency but essentially replaced him with second-round pick Lee Hunter, who had 10.5 tackles for loss at Texas Tech last season.  Ejiro Evero, one of the NFL’s most respected defensive coordinators, has plenty of talent to work with.
    • unless you have a bonafide superstar at Qb you bring in competition every year until you do & or at the very least you want a legitimate plan B in case of an injury .the problem in Carolina is they know Bryce ayoung most likely could not actually win a real legitimate NFL Qb competition right now & if & when he did not win that aforesaid Qb competition it would not only be a major distraction but a setback to his overall development.& moreover once the fans realized they had a much better Qb on the roster it would be alot of public pressure to start the better Qb  ...just saying
