Kony Ealy

The same Kony Ealy, the fat man drafted over Pro Bowler Allen Robinson. I've seen a few people criticize Cam for only targeting KB and Olsen well newsflash, he's got no one else. The story of Funchess' career at Michigan was that he'd flash potential and it was always "this is going to be his year" it never happened and his NFL career is going to be similar sadly.

This team has so many holes on D and Gettleman just finished wasting an entire draft on it. Y'all were all over DG's knob a few weeks ago for that Coleman extension... he may have looked the worst out of everyone in the secondary.

We got absolutely nothing from KK and you guys want to pay this guy like Cam and Luke? Ha! Most of you are too ignorant to admit it but Gettleman's ego really f'd us good with the whole Josh situation.

I disagree. Yeah it was only the first game and yeah it only counted for 1 in the standings but you saw all the jawing you saw TD fall to his knees after the kick was missed. This game meant a lot more to these guys then they'd ever let you know.

Hopefully they're able to put this behind them and not let it affect the next few games.

Harris has 2 Pro Bowls, the last two years - Talib has 3, the last 3 years

Harris has 2 second team All-Pro, Talib has 1 second team All-Pro

Talib is 6'1 - Harris is 5'10 ... Funchess is 6'4 ... clearly Talib is the best CB Denver could have used against Funchess

Basically Denver has two #1 CB's and the Talib is the #1 CB they had that would most likely neutralize Funchess, not 5'10 Harris

Harris was on KB, our #1, all night who is 6'5".

Everybody has an off night but I was really alarmed when I saw the box score from the game. Kony Ealy didn't register a single tackle last night. His only statistic was the deflected pass he almost picked off in the 4th quarter. He made no real impact in the game.  That can't continue to happen if the Panthers intend to have a stout pass defense this season.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
