I've seen Ron Rivera get passionate before

Because it needs to be done.  That's why we're so hell bent on it.  We want our QB to be protected, first and foremost, which is far from what we saw last night.  After that, we want our QB to be treated the same as every other QB in the league.  Is that not fair to Cam, and the team as a whole?  I honestly don't really care about the loss.  It sucks, but I'm over it.  It's not about getting calls in our favor, or officials being more lenient towards us.  It's about bringing much needed attention, to a very obvious issue that no other QB's are currently facing.

It doesn't need to be done. Coming out and publicly slating the officiating won't achieve anything. He can submit tape and send in his concerns like he has done, and he can use this to a light a fire under his teams ass as he will do. Focusing on things outside of the team's control is what losing teams do.

That's why Cam is publicly moving on, and that's why Ron will do the same.

When Rivera says unfortunate he is really saying "It's complete bullshit, the ref's knew the hits were illegal and refused to throw the flag despite my conversations with them multiple times. I will not be discussing this with the media however I will be sending tape in regarding each instance of a Broncos player clearly targeting and attempting to use their helmet as a weapon with an attachment regarding their admission to the claim."

If that is truly the case, then not a damn thing will change.

Agree to disagree.  I feel that sometimes things should be made public, and I feel that this is one of those things.  How many years of being quiet, and sending in his concerns does it take to make a change?  This is year six of Cam's professional career.  This is year six of the same old poo.  It's not even remotely close to the other petty poo that we constantly gripe about, such as holding not being called, PI not getting called, etc.  This is regarding a player's health, and safety, and it's getting completely overlooked.  Yes, he's a huge dude, and can take more punishment than your typical QB, but that poo shouldn't matter, and nothing has been addressed, as to him being treated differently.  There has to be a change, and obviously the normal protocol isn't getting it done.

It is being made public, it has been made public. But the best thing Cam and Rivera can do is focus on the next game and use this to motivate the team instead.

I just posted this stat from ESPN in another thread:

Quote

ESPN Stats and Information

The penalty called against Darian Stewart on Thursday was the first time there was a roughing-the-passer penalty called against a Panthers opponent with Cam Newton at quarterback since Week 11 of the 2014 season against the Falcons.

That's just astounding.  We've obviously been sending in "tape" to the League for the last 27 games where Cam hasn't gotten a call and not a damn thing has changed.

Time to take it public IMO.

It is impossible to know that. The fact that it is being discussed via every media outlet available, including by former players on the NFL's very own channel, means that it will not be swept under the rug.

You're not getting what I'm trying to say.  The general public talking about it, isn't what I'm referring to, and that's not the kind of "making it public" that needs to happen.  Someone, like Rivera/Gettleman, needs to go out on a limb, and speak up about the situation, or nothing will change, just like it hasn't changed the past six years.  ESPN articles won't change it, and us bitching won't change it.  The NFL needs to be called out internally.  poo might change if Rivera showed up to a presser, or two, and said, "it's a damn shame that the NFL is blatantly overlooking the well being of Cam because...(fill in the blank)."  JR can pay that piddly ass fine.  poo, he's got $100 million invested into the guy that's getting poo on, and I truly believe he cares about his player's well being, regardless of the investment.

Don't be so quick to play the "focus on the next game" card.  Some things shouldn't be pushed to the side.  Cam deserves to be protected, just like everyone else.  Not only because he's our QB, or player in general, but because he's another human being.  One day, it's going to be too late.

Oh I completely understood what you and everyone else is trying to say. What you guys aren't understanding is no officiating ever changed because a coach stood up and took a stand against the league and refs. Its not the first time and it won't be the last, but there's a reason Cam and Ron don't call this stuff out, it changes nothing and its a losers mentality.

Fix what you can fix every day this week in training and in the weight room and go and smack SF in the mouth in a week. That's how you fix it.

You keep bringing up a "losers mentality," and I'm sorry, but that's just bullshit.  I'm not trying to dog you in any way either.  It has nothing to do with winning, or losing.  This poo is important to the safety of a player, plus fairness, and I'd personally be just as pissed, and adamant about it, if Gano would have won that game.  Beating SF's ass won't change that

    • CeeDee Lamb got hurt in week 3. The Cowboys were rolling without him. Not sure what you meant by this. Our defense was the 1st to slow the Cowboys down some. Statistically before the game the Cowboys were ranked in the top 3 of the league.
    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
