Learned something new about the NFL today

Players with big egos DESERVE brain damage and the brain damage will continue until they get their egos "under control".

Here I always thought the NFL, with their millions of dollars of "programs" about player safety, was supposed to discourage that.

But I didn't know about the Big Ego Exception.

I found that pretty interesting.  I never knew.

You expect the defense to not tee off on a QB running the ball into the endzone and that QB pulls up and stands tall...ripe for a chin shot?

Yea you haven't been watching the NFL at all for long...back in the 80s and previous(hell some in the 90s) that'd be a soft play....

Listening to the announcers today try to explain how the hit in the head today wasn't a penalty because of the various requirements was sickening. The fact is the league gave notice from day one this season that cam's head is not going to be well protected. Now in 3/4 games he has been hit in the head. Legal hits or not, there is a weakness being exploited at severe detriment to Cam's health. His teammates are being silenced as well as seen in the trai turner taunting penalties. It's bullshit. Some of our toughest guys are being reined in by the league until we comply.

He decided to be a runner and then hot dog it...

Please point out where on that play he was "hot dogging" it.

He slowed down, yes.  He clearly wasn't aware about what was going on around him, yes.

And for that, assholes like you think he deserves a crown of the helmet to his head.

Does that kind of poo sound good in your head?  Because it sure as hell sounds dumb as fug after you wrote it down.

You do understand the NFL doesn't allow intentional shots to the head with the crown of the helmet against runners either?

Right?

Which "NFL" do you watch where that is allowed?

Or are you another member of "he was dumb ergo he deserves brain damage" crowd?

Considering that wasn't the crown of his helmet we have no problem here...

They showed it over and over again and it wasn't a crown of the head. It was an intentional HEAD shot but not with the crown, which you can do to a runner. You need to ask yourself about the rules and where the crown of a helmet actually is. There will be 0 fines for that too watch...old school football play can't be mad at it...don't fugin walk into the endzone...it's that simple.

You should watch the play again. He was not hit with the crown of the helmet. It was basically the ear hole where the contact was.

    • I am gonna believe it wasn’t us if the 4th round pick price is accurate. We needed 225 points to get from 19 to their pick. 875 at 19 to 1100 at 14.  Our 2026 4th was valued at 56 points I think. A future 4th has less value. So that wasn’t close to enough.    It would have taken our third and our fourth. Comes within a point of even.    Now, moving to their spot in the second round we could have done but after Miami took Rodriguez why would we?
    • Yep,and Blake Miller have had more experiences than Freeling,Lions did not sigh a vet T like Walker,so they had to pick Miller.
    • I mean it's expected.  This is the NBA.  And they hate the Charlotte Hornets.  Flagg was also the guy "magically" given to the Mavs who lost Luca to the wildly popular Lakers.  Was always an uphill battle.  But the award is BS since it's not voted on before play-in starts. Kon probably lost because of the play-in as many people switched votes.  It was a regular season award, so this is some nonsense.  Kon also didn't have the luxury of taking 10 games off to rest up injuries like Flagg did.  If he did, he wouldn't have been nursing his back the last month.  I mean, screw him for being on an actual playoff team that matters.  Flagg took tons of shots a game, he was wildly inefficient.  Kon was a huge reason the Hornets made the play-in and turned the season around after Jan.   I think Flagg will probably be the better player long term, or at least the most impact.  But Kon should have won ROTY.
