What was different with the offense in the second half?

They allowed Cam to run the no huddle. Lined up with 15 seconds+ on the play clock. Allowed Cam to look over the defense and make adjustments.

Better than getting play call in late and breaking huddle only to have 3 to 5 seconds to read the defense.

Exactly.. cam was allowed to be cam for once.

We did use the hurry up and Cam was throwing in rhythm and to spots.  In the first half he was holding the ball and waiting for receivers to uncover.  We used the run more effectively and kept them off balance.  I promise you when we were only behind by 7 I promise you they werent playing prevent.  But as wide open as their receivers were most of the day you would think we were.

Wrong again.  THey ran the no huddle and Cam got in rhythm and did a great job.  Other games we have run the no huddle and went 3 and out which puts more pressure on the defense if they have been out on the field all day.  It isnt doing or not doing it, it is doing what works.  If it doesnt we try other things and if it does we keep doing it.   Cam runs this offense and it is built around stop.  The notion that he cant do what he wants is really beyond stupid. You act like Shula does thing to stop the offense on purpose and hold Cam back.  That is just beyond ridiculous.  You have to know that he wants Cam to do great and will do everything he can to do that.

    • I mean, he's a professional athlete.  What you think as a fan vs what he should think as a player are completely different.  Being bad doesn't mean you should lack confidence in yourself, and really that is true in all forms of life.  Do everything you want to do with confidence. Justin Fields sucks, but does he ever play like someone who doesn't believe in his own abilities?   Obviously you need more than confidence to be a high-level NFL player, and Bryce will never be that.  But he could still create 2-3 extra plays a game if he allowed himself to play more "free" like he did in the second half of last season.  The fact he refuses to use his legs to pick up yards nowadays hurts this team.  Simple things like that would go a long way for us, even if not for him.
    • I've always thought it odd that the QB is the only guy in the roster who carries a record. If a RB puts up 1200 yards but the team sucks then everyone still says the RB had a good year. If a QB puts up good numbers put the D is atrocious and the win loss record isn't great due to that then the narrative is that the QB can't win. Now that we're finding a way to win with suddenly dominant D and dominate running game people are trying to shift to this "Bryce is just a winner" narrative while he puts up bottom of the league numbers while near the top of the league in turnovers. It's just funny to watch.
