TWD Season 7

Yeah if you ignore Jaime's stupid trip to the water gardens, or Baelish teleporting everywhere, along with other places where they've dropped the ball.

GoT is not the hallmark you make it out to be. They've had to truncate the material, and now I bet they're all wishing they'd fleshed it out a little more.

What TWD is doing is the opposite.

I never said GOT was flawless.  GOT figured out how to make overall great TV.  I don't think they are wishing they had drug anything out.  They were more concerned about telling a great story on TV.  Not longevity.   TWD producers/writers would have killed off Ned Stark at the end of season 3 after they faked out his death.

Would you define season 7 of the TWD as great TV?  Would you define the last season of GOT as great TV? Those should be an easy answer.

Reboot the entire fugging show. Fire the dingbat showrunner Scott Gimple and move the entire series to Netflix. Problem solved.

No chance that happens but damn this show would be so much better off broadcast TV.

would have been better were it on HBO as it almost was

The last season of GoT was horrible, and season 7 of TWD is far from it's worst.

Well agree to disagree on that...GOT to me is as good TV gets currently.  Again, I only evaluate TV shows as TV shows and let the source material be its own thing

Season 7 TWD is currently on pace to be horribly bad.  It doesn't earn worst consideration merely because we haven't finished yet...I wouldn't be shocked if they pulled a LOST and soon dedicated an entire episode to be meaning of a tattoo Daryl Dixon has on his left butt cheek.

Last season of GOT was not horrible, but it certainly wasn't the best season.

This season of TWD isn't the worst (that's season 2) but it isn't what I would consider good either.

I think a lot of my issue with TWD is show fatigue...  it's just kind of the same thing over and over at this point.  At least with GoT there will be a natural ending point when the white walkers are vanquished and someone solidifies their seat on the Iron Throne.  Not really sure where you end TWD.

I didn't bring up the last season of GOT to discuss where it ranked in terms of GOT seasons....merely that by TV standards, GOT kicks butt.   They got it figured out.

and I think TWD has GOT envy.....I think the Snow cliffhanger influenced the botch job of the Negan intro and maybe they think this painfully bad setup to their war will help make it epic.   But Negan is no Ramsey and we aren't about to witness a Battle of the Bastards.

GoT was great last season, except the waste of time at Riverrun.  Not their best though, that would be season four imo.

For TWD, this has been one of my least favorite half seasons thus far along with the search for Beth and the one where the Governor returns post-Woodbury.

Game of Thrones has been cheesy as hell for like 3 seasons now.

Dude...

I genuinely mean no disrespect.

But you are the single biggest TWD apologist around these parts.  If they literally had Arthur Fonzereli ski jumping over a tank of zombie sharks you'd tell us all that it was in the service of some larger plot that we were all to simple to understand.

I have zero doubt that the GN/Comic version of TWD is worth every second of investment it takes to read it.  I trust you completely in that matter.

But you've got to let go of the notion that criticism of the show as it is currently being executed is somehow an indictment that the source material is less than worthy of praise.

And trying to slag on GoT in service of that notion is kinda like that infamous Fonzie moment in the arc of your defense.

if you think GOT is cheesy (not going to debate that if you believe so)...then you should be one of the loudest critics on this board of TWD TV Show and be demanding its cancellation effective immediately.

When discussing TWD TV Show the comic is really irrelevant.   Same as GOT TV show.

95% of all season 7 (apologist) are all comic fans.  B/c they are defending ultimately the comic and the arc in the comic.  Which means nothing in the TV realm.

There just isn't enough time in 45 minutes to have so many locations.   Combined with all the little chats, it's hard to get the content in.

Also, how many talks and speeches at this point are we going to have about "how the world is now bro"?   I think at this point, if you're alive, you mostly understand that.   Seems we get to waste time by having these convos all the time.    Let stories unfold and tell that story without having pow-wow's all the time.

That being said, I didn't hate the episode, seeing other settlements is pretty cool but they have a big issue with handling multiple locations and redundant conversations.
