The Daryl Williams era

He flashes but can't do anything consistently. Had some nice catches with YAC but a terrible drop and a catch where he fell down after he caught it. He hasn't been near the threat we hoped he'd be after the strong training camp.

All WRs drop some balls. Hell, Fitz dropped a ball or two today.

IMO, Remmers has much more value as a back-up. He can play more positions than Daryl, so let him be the first one off the bench.

They drafted Daryl to be our RT of the future. Well, he has played well enough for that future to have started. Let the kid roll with it.

I totally agree with your first paragraph. Remmers may not be an elite OT but he has proven to be adequate. Having a guy like him as a backup is a positive.

I may be mistaken, but isn't he a FA after the season? If so, I wonder if he'd want to stay around if he knows he won't be a starter?

I think Williams was envisioned as a starter too, so I think he ought to start the remainder of the season unless he struggles.

I really like those redzone looks with Jstew and Williams out there and Scott in as an extra blocker. It says "hey, we're about to run this up your ass; good luck stopping it"

I wish they would move that bunch trips to the other side. The Cards shifted to that formation every time. And almost every time we still ran to that side.

Move those trips to the left side, and limit the amount of defenders on the right. Trai, Daryl, with Scott blocking for Stewy. It worked really well on Stews second TD. They did run left with the trips right on the first Stew TD. But I don't want to talk about that.

How quickly you all forget how god awful he was in every game he played prior to this one.

Who are you talking about? Because Daryl has played very well in all 4 games he has started.

Let that hate out. Just do it without misusing facts.

He has been helped by TE's and other offensive lineman, resulting in Cam not having the time he had prior to this season.

Well, that is just not true. He rarely gets help, even against Beasley. Just admit you haven't really paid attention to him. Not unusual, most fans follow the ball, so they miss out on the line play.

Just re-watch any of the last 4 games. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Or did you just wander into the thread to throw shade at him?

    • Even if he beats the odds, returns midseason  and plays like he did last year it won’t warrant a big contract extension.
    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
