Shula is a idiot but Rivera has his fingerprints all over this offense

People think cause Rivera is a defensive minded coach he has no influence on the offense but that's BS. He's the one who wants milk the clock, he's the one that likes to slow play and run it up the middle. He wants to protect his precious defense at all cost.

Someone has to tell this moronic coaching staff you shouldn't run go routes when the opposing team is blitzing.

Somebody should tell the qb to change the play if he recognizes a blitz. When the play is given to the QB the coaches haven't seen the way the defense is lining up.  if you watch a football game it goes like this.

Qb gets the call

Qb communicates the play in the huddle

Offense lines up

Defense lines up in response

Both do some things to disguise or react to the other

This is where the qb has the option to react to what they see (blitz, etc) and make a change.

If coaches/coordinator saw the defense line up showing blitz and then freeze in place so the offense could call a play and then huddle up you would have a point. I've never seen that happen in a football game. Have you?

Change the play with 2 seconds left on the clock? By the time we line up there is no time to audible. Instead of going no huddle which is Cam strength, Rivera insists on going to the huddle and using up the entire clock.

Hyperbole...this forum is full of it.  Dude we don't generally have just 2 seconds on the clock just stop it.

Can we all agree that it's time for Ron and his entire staff to exit? There's like 3 threads on this. I agree it is Cam's job to change the play when he recognizes the blitz but we are always down to the last few seconds when we line up so there goes that. Rivera and staff don't know how to play to their players strengths.

If Ron goes...put me down for a total front office clean out.  Gettlemen too.

Getting rid of Ron also signals the beginning of end of the Newton era.

I personally would just of preferred Dave did his job this offseason

    • You're assuming just as well.   Morgan and Canales were hired 3 days apart.  I believe it was partially due to their connections in Seattle.  i believe Tepper wanted some familiarity with his GM and HC.  It is so easy to sit back and arm-chair QB over draft picks.  You don't know what the philosophy was going into the 2024 draft.  I believe Canales and Morgan were drafting for the future.  XL and Brooks point to that philosophy. Name me one GM that is 100% on draft picks.  Just one.  You're not going to find one.    I think year one picks weren't for what can you do for me now but Potential.   XL hasn't lived up to the hype of a 1st rounder.  I think we all can agree on that. However, there still is hope he comes around.  What I believe they saw in him was his speed after the catch.  He needs to get more consistent but when he gets the ball you kind of hold your breath just a second because if he gets free, he's gone.  The Brooks pick was a signing for the future, and no one could have guessed he would re-injure the same ACL.  This makes the pick look bad but Dallas was ready to draft him later that same round.  IMO we'll have to see what happens next season before we can call this a bust. Wallace has improved each season and for a third rounder has done well.  Sanders has shown flashes and considering the pick in the 4th round it wasn't a bad pick.  His sophomore season IMO was a little bit more productive.  Smith-Wade has been a good addition and has played well.  For a 5th round pick to get as much playing time as he has.  Most picks below round 3 should take a couple of years to get up to speed.  He's been a decent player.  Crumedy, no comment We turned Barrett into Jackson.  This was an amazing move and basically got a starting CB for a 7th round pick.  Pretty shrewd if you ask me. Coker, maybe the best Free Agent signing of the 2024 draft class. So, in short, you can't say that the draft was a bust.  It isn't a home run but all but one are still on the team and outside of Brooks have made contributions to wins.  2025 draft class has been much better with almost every pick making contributions this season.  Now take Fitterer's two years and compare them to Morgan and tell me that they have the same philosophy.
    • He hasn’t led crap, he’s on loaded teams and a piece of the puzzle. And he’s he has improved drastically but it took the ultimate QB whispers in Shanahan and KOC. You put him on this Panther team and he’s back to normal Darnold
    • Slavin and Jarvis week to week. Florida cheap shots took out our two best players.  I’d start KK so he can beat the brakes off someone.
