No Hope...? Nope. Still Too Early To Call It A Season

Simply put, we should have won yesterday. The Panthers scoring 0 in the 2nd half is inexcusable; that Cam INT is inexcusable; not taking a knee and going into OT against a KC team that had not scored an offensive TD is inexcusable. All that said, it's still too early to throw in the towel on this team. With a win on Thursday night, we are still in this thing at 4-6 and in a three way tie for 2nd in the weak NFC South.

Atlanta's next three: ARZ, KC, @ LA

Tampa's next three: @ KC, SEA, SD

NO's next three: @CAR, LA, DET

Carolina's next three: NO, @ OAK, @ SEA

There's potential and we control our own destiny. Not saying we win any or all three, but when there's a shimmer of light, there's hope. The team needs to learn how to close out games. Keep that one game at a time mentality. We're down, but not quite out...yet.

Maybe someone should've told Shula and Ron that (taking a knee). The play worked and would've been fine had the ball not been stripped. But I'm still all in, still optimistic.

I don't see Tampa winning their next three, Atlanta will win Arizona and LA probably and NO will def win LA and maybe Detroit.

The Saints and Raiders will be a shootout. Although the Aint's oline is questionable, they got a QB. The Raiders Oline is legit. They got a QB. Seahawks I think Russell will have a tough time with our front, but they looked good against the Patriots last night.

Will be tough for sure.

I had hope up until yesterday.  I even bet a friend last week that we would make the playoffs.  I have tried to stay positive, but losing the way we did yesterday kind of beats hope out of ya.  It is what it is.  Right?   That's how I feel at this point.  Go watch the post game interviews.  It's like 95% of this team lacks any emotion.  Don't see us pulling this out without a big attitude change across the entire team.  They just don't come off as being hungry and without that they aren't going to win out.

I felt that same way as well. I still have a little hope but that all gets thrown out of the window with a loss this Thursday.

We have a 3.7% chance of making the playoffs at this moment....so, while you are correct, our season is not technically over yet, your optimism is unrealistic.  There is nothing wrong with hoping we win out the rest of the season and the Falcons start to Falcon but Christ.....some of the people on this board have the most insane expectations at the worst odds possible.

    • Sellers is absolutely one to keep an eye on. Could be the next Cam or could be the next Anthony Richardson. Curious to see how he has progressed come this fall.
    • I think Texas could go 0-12 and he would still go #1 based on his name and traits like you say.  But nusselman and sellers may be actually better qbs.    Man if bryce stinks it up this season its looking like a damn good year to swap out qbs.  Sellers highlights are just fuging jaw dropping
    • I mean, the kid comes from a wealthy family. It's not like he needs the money. He has a ton of potential now we get to see what he can do as a starter. Everyone penciling him in as the #1 overall pick is putting the cart way before the horse. It's 5% because of his talent and what he's showing on the field and 95% because his last name is Manning. And if he is what he's hyped to be the Texas coaching staff needs to be answering some tough questions about why the kid wasn't on the field sooner. Ewers was a good college QB but he's definitely not a "keep a future #1 overall pick waiting" type of college QB. Only getting one season out of a top NFL talent because you chose to keep him buried behind a borderline NFL talent is just coaching negligence. Not starting him as a true freshman? Yeah, I get that. But on year two if the kids is what he's hyped to be you gotta wish Ewers well elsewhere and turn the page.
