Most of you "diehard" Panthers fans have no clue who this is. He is our reigning Conditioning Coach of the Year. He was voted by his peers last year for the award and this year he is looking like last year was an anomaly. This year the Panthers have got to be the worst conditioned team by far. We haven't gone a game now without a significant injury now we have multiple starters on offense and defense on IR, hell we even cut someone for what seems to be conditioning issues. You may say that it's bad luck that we have had this many injuries, to you folk I say eat one. It would be bad luck if we had one or two season ending injuries we currently have 7 key contributors. Yes this happens to other teams but name the last time in Panthers history we've had the injury bug to this extent. How many people have been injured this year and missed a game? How many concussions have we suffered this year? It's starting to get frustrating how poorly prepared our coaching staff is this honestly is the last straw. Not only is our team playing badly not able to finish games, put that one who you will, but our coaching staff can't even keep our players healthy. Gettleman needs to do what he's been wanting to do since he got here and get his own coach. Hopefully he make the right choice with that but we will have to wait and see even though my heart tells me JR is too senile to even know what's going on anymore.

Tell me about how conditioning is going to prevent concussions?

Most injuries in football are due to just plain bad luck. Some guys are naturally more durable than others, but they're all human and can be injured under the right circumstance. Occasionally there's a guy (*cough*Kris Jenkins*cough*) who is likely contributing to his injury issues by showing up to training camp weighing 400 pounds.

It doesn't seem like these injuries are conditioning type injuries.  Concussions.  Ankles.  Shoulders.  Soft Tissue injuries seem more likely due to bad conditioning.  As to Bene being cut due to conditioning, don't forget he was coming off an injury that seems to have been much worse than most of us realized.

If we hadn't been in a huge mess at Corner, I doubt he would have been brought back as quickly as he was...He wasn't ready.  Not Joe Kenn's fault.

So since we have a forum full of Albert fugin einsteins please tell me how a conditioning coach is hired or fired???

Remember the giants injury problem they've had for years? Well guess what they addressed it. Look at their injury history minus concussions which obviously aren't something you can fully help it's basically same type of stuff as ours.

    • Good game so far.  Solid trench battles, two young well built defenses, and my 2 fave coaches.  Stafford is really damn good.  SEA OL is overperforming.
    • Okay then. To me that means Russell Wilson was Coryell. Because I see the proposition completely in the Russell Wilson punt/pass put it up for grabs mold. Count on the receiver to catch it or knock it down.    And the reason I thought that was the intent with Legette is the abysmal downfield game from 2023. As in, there was barely any.   I look at it as if… the result of a deep attempt isn’t as important as the opponent understanding they have to defend it. So I was all for some 50/50s. Coryell, Walsh whoever.  I do favor the Coryell approach personally but also very much value versatility, it doesn’t have to be strict. Just make the defense defend the whole field, however you do it. It has to include downfield throws.
    • Sold, or in the process of being sold. Could be either way. Consider this for a second... Last season, our defensive coordinator steered what many have called the worst defense in NFL history.  Canales would absolutely have been justified in firing him, and no one would have blamed him if he had.  But what did he do? He gave Evero another chance to come back and prove he could be better. Does that tell us something about Canales? I think it does. Now apply that to Bryce 😕
