Atleast we sucked in a good draft year.  This draft seems more talented and deeper  this year than the last few imo.

The bad though.  I wish Gettleman wouldve Gettleman last draft.  Instead of his typical bpa he reached for needs (still think we shouldve gone Nassib 2, trade up in the 3rd for Bradberry).  Now that we invested 90% of last years draft on Corners.   This draft is the Deepest at CB class I have seen in a long while.  King out of Iowa was projected the #2 CB last year behind Ramsey were he to declare.  Now he may end up being the 5th or 6th CB and falling to the 2nd.  We couldve filled several other holes just by gtabbing Bradberry at CB and not reach for the other guys.  now we could have less holes and still pickup a guy on the level of Eli Apple or Hargraves in the 2nd.

As far as the big board it looks pretty good.   Id nove McGlinchey up a little, bump Sidney Jones and Quincey Miller right out of the top 15. Tim Williams up there.  Tim Williams is one of my sleepers.  One of the better "true" natural 3-4 OLB I have seen come out the last few seasons.  Could be huge for a team like the jets.

Yup. Desmond King is a stud. Was ranked very high last year until he decided not to return. Now, he's not even the best in this class.

Not saying Butler will be a bad pick, but we should've use it on a "need" pick. Someone like Ogbah, Dodd, Noah Spence Derrick Henry.

Should've drafted Landon Collins over Shaq in 2015 too. I like Shaq but not the damn way they are using him. He barely sees the field.

Garrett wont make it past the top 5 unless he has a Laremy Tunsil type incident. And then the Panthers wouldn't select him anyway lol.

Pretty good lists though. At this point if Adams , Allen, and Hooker are all gone at 8, I think the Panthers will end up getting one of the two running backs. Or they might reach for the best OT (Robinson or Ramcyk whichever one they like more I suppose), and I wouldn't be mad honestly, at least they'd be trying to fix our achilles heel thats been being ignored here for years.

Hopefully they don't draft Williams. We have enough possession receivers. If the Panthers do end up picking up any WR talent this draft, it needs to be a speed demon (i.e. John Ross or DeDe Westbrook) or someone with great YAC skills otherwise.

There's going to be such a huge talent pool at pick 8, its going to be hard for us to have a bad pick unless we get really unlucky and get a bust. But just going off college performance alone, we're going to be getting a great player most likely and I'm really looking forward to the draft.

Guest Rueben Foster, I wouldn't be mad if that happened. Even though we are absolutely fuging stacked at the LB position, Foster is seemingly a world beating linebacker and the absolute best in his draft class by a very long shot. Honestly he'd get more playing time if he played as an OLB but if he stays as an ILB then he'll only be spelling Luke.. Our best bet would be to train him up to be a lethal OLB to play with Keuchly and Davis, and when Davis retires we'd have a starting 3 of Foster, Keuchly, and S.Thompson which will be fun as fuging hell. As great as our current LBs are , none of them are real pass rushing specialists, they cover the field and track the ball carrier well but generally aren't often counted upon to hit home to the QB. If Foster could be used as that type of player whose main responsibility is to get the QB im game.

I like the OPs second list . Although I personally would take out Mike Williams and put John Ross there who suits our WR needs much better than Williams who is probably just a slightly better version of Kelvin or Funchess.

Fan's favorites at this point are pretty much down to two: Adams and Fournette. People seem to think that Fournette will just be there at 8. He could easily go to Jax at 4 and then Adams at 7 to SD. We'd be screwed.

Imo, I'd take Foster over any DEs in this draft. Fans are going to hate it but Foster is a stud beast. I think that he can make a Switch go OLB similar to Vontaze Burfict. TD is getting older and slower. Shaq is an unknown at this point. And, Luke has a concussion history.

Sources Tell Us

"He's not a MIKE linebacker. I think he's a pure run-and-hit WILL linebacker with good cover talent. I'm worried about what his medicals will show because he's had some issues with stingers during his career. I have a higher grade on him than I had on Reggie Ragland. Better pro potential to me." -- NFC director of scouting

NFL Comparison

Bobby Wagner

Bottom Line

Foster is a vicious hitter with elite playmaking range and an ability to toggle between 225 and 240 pounds. Athleticism gives him cover ability that former teammate Reggie Ragland never possessed. Has Pro Bowl potential as a 3-4 inside linebacker or a 4-3 weak-side linebacker, but concerns over his medical history could be a consideration, according to some teams.

I would be very content with a BPA approach (sans CB, QB) this year as the pickings are ripe at #8, but....  Depending how draft stocks move there may be some QB coveting later in the 1st (Texans, Cards, Bills, Browns?) which might make trade down possibilities more plausible and easier to imagine.

Looking forward to the drama between now and then.

I have seen a ton of Mike Williams and he's a good possession WR.  I think he is a little to hyped up. Corey Davis is my best WR by a large margin.  He is amazing.

What exactly is it that makes Corey Davis amazing? Enlighten me.. if he's not a speed burner how is he useful to our offense? Does he have good YAC? Because none of our receivers do unless you count Ginn just outrunning people.

    • No you dont.  He had all those records for years before his final season. Whether career or season he had them all years before his final season in which he played 6 games.
    • Williams covered for Moore by saying they were on the wrong page about Moores specific route. Williams could have easily covered for him by saying he messed up. Suggesting only 1 route was ever intended to be a viable target is absurd.
    • I am going to agree with Linville this time--I think we need to get a veteran edge (We have Jones II, Scourton, and Princely--2 developmental guys and a decent veteran).  We don't really think of Jones because he had a hamstring injury weeks 3 and 4 and a back that required surgery Week 6-17.  He still managed 10 pressures, and he will be 28.  Princely Umanmielen only played in approximately 18-20% of the snaps and he struggled at times.  Basically, he was a situational pass rusher.  He got 1.5 sacks and 10 pressures.  He should improve, but for now, he is what he is.  Scourton gives us hope.  For a rookie (and thanks to Jones II's injuries, he was given more PT), he had 8 sacks--and held the edge.  He played at a first-round draft pick level.  He has the potential to become "that guy" in 2026. We lose Wonnum, who played nearly 700 snaps and amassed 3 whole sacks.  For a person raised a Gamecock, I would not be upset if we purged our roster of all South Carolina alumni.   However, I see it this way:  Wonnum was decent holding the edge, something Patrick Jones II and Scourton have demonstrated at a high level.  He is a liability, if you ask me.    Jones had 7 sacks one season in Minnesota and is known for his inside rushing ability--not what you would call a speed rusher.  I think Princely was a bit disappointing, but he was a bit raw.  Out of college, they described him as being a bit predictable.  I see no reason he will not improve in 2026 and become a situational pass rusher.   Basically, with Scourton and Princely expected to continue to develop and Jones II returning from injury, I think we need another veteran (if we can get a good one) to give us balance and depth.  A third developmental player is not ideal.   Draft:  OT, LB, WR, OL depth, S. Free Agency:  Edge, possibly a WR;  re-sign Mays, Cuhran, BC (??), and Nijman.  Let walk:  Wonnum, Scott, Dowdle.  I see about $20m per year after signing the OL depth.  Spend it on a veteran edge.   Players like Reddick (Tampa), Bosa (Buffalo), Khalil Mack (LAC) could be available on a one or two year deal in the $15m range.  We could splurge here, but I think a veteran situational pass rusher (depending on Jones II's back) is all we need while our 2 young guns develop.
