Raiders Not Bringing Back OC Bill Musgrave

The Raiders are making a change at offensive coordinator after a season in which they had one of the league's best offenses.

Bill Musgrave is "not expected to return" to Oakland in 2017, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday. Musgrave's offense finished sixth in the NFL in total yards and seventh in points. The Raiders finished the 2016 regular season 12-4, with quarterback Derek Carr a front-running MVP candidate before he broke his leg in a win over the Colts on Dec. 24.

Can we fire Shula now?

....And yet we still have Shula. I'm just not fretting over it anymore. This franchise loves mediocrity and will continue to love it after Shula fields yet another mediocre offense to go along with our mediocre record next year while we waste away yet another year of Cam in his prime.

Not one person in this thread said to bring him here.

I never said they did. There was a clear insinuation that they fired some great OC in an effort to get better. He's been worse than Shula over his career.  Just recycled whining in a new format.

    • Another thread where the Huddle melts down over a Bryce comment.  "Conversations" and "Bryce Young has been signed to a new long-term contract" are still far away from being the gospel.  For a fanbase that has watched two top-3 drafted QBs come here, and us move on, only to see them elevate their play elsewhere, I find it comical. Bryce is flawed but this org is damned if you do and damned if you don't with BY9.  Why would our GM and HC say anything other than supportive about their QB1. Yes, he's extended, but I truly do not think if he goes out and has a repeat of the previous seasons, that he is here beyond 2027. They're giving him every opportunity and surrounding him with a ridiculous amount of assets on both sides of the ball. If he continues to pitch 110 yd/ game and cough up the ball while everyone else is busting their ass, no way Dan keeps him beyond the extension.
    • Ooof, I was not a Proctor fan. I agree w/ a lot of smarter folks than me that he's more of a guard and think his weight fluctuation is going to be something to navigate. I liked Lomu a lot, but figured there would be more talented guys there at 19. I also wasn't big on bringing in a TE via the draft. If it's not a vet (Njoku) or a trade for Mayer or Kmet, I'd just as soon see what the youngsters have. No need cluttering the room with more of the same.
    • Sam Darnold & Bryce Young are two very different Qbs ..just saying the last 25 years approximately 2/3 of ALL  first round Qb's  in the NFL were or are bust.so for everyone who makes it like a Sam Darnold you have two that don't make it or are a bust
