probably had something to do with McD's playcalling

Had more to do with keeping everything short and underneath to hide the corners inexperience and keep them biting on double moves giving up big scores like we did against Atlanta the first time. Especially when safety help was often poor and late in arriving.

Yep, all the time. I've been saying since Shula took over that he needs to get his ass out of the booth and put Dorsey up there.

OCs almost never go down on the field, the ability to see the whole field and see what is unfolding has to be done from the booth.

He does look like Denzel. Now all we need is for him to go on a Denzel like tirade on the field. "What are you doing, son? This sh*ts chess, not checkers! Get your head in the game!"

Yea sorry but that ain't true. Plenty of offensive coordinators call plays from the sidelines.

When Bruce Arians was an offensive coordinator:

"If you could talk to the quarterback from the booth, I might do it," Arians says. "But the way it is now, you lose valuable seconds relaying the call down. Sometimes you want to tell the quarterback what you're thinking: 'Hey, get it out of your hands quick and let's get 5 yards.' Or, 'Let's take a shot downfield. If it's not there, check it down.' But if you relay that down from the booth to the sideline, it never gets said right. You're like, 'No, that's not what I meant!'

Sound like any problems we might have?

Plenty? Or are there more? That is 5 of 32. Actually I am surprised it is even that many. Seems to be a big disadvantage not to see the defensive coverages when you line up the offense and see how they react.

Well I found an article from 2007 where there were 22 play callers on the field vs just 10 in the booth.

A bigger disadvantage is not being able to communicate with your qb.
