Maybe he will be asked to retire.  NOT in any way implying that Proehl was asked to retire.  Just hoping for improved support for Cam from any source and apparently Shula's not going anywhere.

I don't see why people are so against the idea that he was asked to step down I think it could be a combination of that and what he stated it's not impossible it wouldn't be the first time and it won't be the last something like that would happen

Because there's loads of evidence against it and zero evidence to support it outside of people's bulls--t conspiracy theories.

The whole notion is just ridiculous.

See the thing is even with evidence anything could be the truth because we don't know what goes on behind closed doors it's just that simple. Regardless of the evidence it's still a possibility even if it's a very unlikely possibility still a possibility that's how people are even the tiniest little bit of wiggle room they will point it out and say that could've happened it's just what we humans do

Proehl himself has spoken on the matter and very clearly said it's for his sons.

Unless you want to go to the incredibly moronic length of saying he's using his sons to lie so he can protect an organization that just screwed him over, there's nothing to it.

Amazing how fast fans are to crap on the folks who got this team to be legitimate competitors and NFC champs just because we had an off year riddled with injuries and a big target on our collective backs.

Three straight years of playoffs for a team that hadn't been anywhere in January in forever, an offense that was built to bring Cam along into an NFL capable QB -- evolving as he did, and made the most of talent on site or available for the pennies we had free and available.

Then we churn out a 6-10 season with half of our starters either out or walking wounded and you guys want blood to run in the streets. Go the frick back to playing Madden and with yourselves. You folks would have spit on Muhammad Ali after the first time he lost the heavyweight title.

Grow up, grow a spine and get some character. Next year's going to be better and we'll be back to the playoffs.

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
