Alcoholism Does NOT Define Steve Sarkisian

“This isn’t something that is necessarily in my past,” Sarkisian told McClure. “It is something that I have to work on every single day, that I do work on every single day because it is important to me. It’s important to who I am as a person. . . . The disease of alcoholism is a piece of me. It doesn’t define me.”

Not to make light of alcoholism because it is a serious problem, but it's baffling why Atlanta would hire someone with this issue.  To me there has been more talk about his alcoholism than his coaching. Sounds like a distraction they could have avoided. But whatever not our problem

Arguably they hired him because he'll keep the offensive scheme the way it was.

It can backfire if NFL teams already figure out the code this offseason. It's safe to say that he doesn't have NFL experience, and that could cost them during the game when things don't work as planned.

I see a huge decline in Atlanta next year. They won't be as lucky with injuries next year, and the Superbowl hangover is real.

we'll see if he can withstand the challenge of a full nfl season. he's walking into a high powered offense that just went to the super bowl and lost miserably, so the expectations of contending again are gonna be high. i also view ATL's offense like a thoroughbred animal-- very elite but also temperamental and susceptible to one thing ruining it. before this year even shanahan was having trouble running it. julio also has had plenty of nagging injuries that derail him for games at a time.

they are good, but assuming we reload with a safety on defense and an DE, i trust ron and his staff to solve the atl puzzle. it doesn't take us long to figure out how to stop them, it's up to getting talented players in the right spots.

I mean one can argue that one of the reasons we were bit by the injury bug so bad this year was because our guys played an extra month and a half of football than everyone else so their bodies didn't get as long of a break to recover as everyone else's did. This could have a lingering effect on the Falcon's as well and could also explain why it's so difficult to get back to the dance year after year.

He is an amazing offensive coordinator.  I'm fairly irritated the Falcons got him to leave Bama.  Didnt see that one coming.

Amazing in college doesn't necessarily translate to amazing in the pros. Saban is the perfect example, he is amazing in college and average in the pros. Remember when Chip Kelly was going to revolutionize the NFL. Yeah...
