... and is our trade up target.

Dave gettleman for years has stood pat in his first-round selection but has shown a definite propensity to trade up in later rounds. We've seen him do it in the second and on. We have not seen him trade back because as he says " you don't trade a quarter for two dimes"... or whatever that quote is.

I think it's extremely likely that we see us trade up into the late first to snag someone that is falling. This has the added benefit of giving us the fifth year option.

The only question is , who will that player be:

Yeah I'm not sure if the top 7 picks will play out the way I want but I'm very confident that we'll be in a position to grab a guy on day 2 that if you suggested him as a second rounder right now some Huddlers would go "YOU IDIOT HES A TOP 15 PICK."

Maybe that does indeed open up the door to move up for an even better player near the end of the 1st as cutesy teams outtbink themselves and move down knowing decent players will still be there at #40

Barnett won't be available in the late 1st and may very well be our pick at 8.  I'm only moving up if we feel our long term answer at LT is Ramczyk and he lasts until 25, so we trade with the Texans to nab him in front of the Seahawks.  There is literally no other sane scenario that makes sense to move up that far.  There's no other premium position, player, or team that makes sense.  The price will be high with so many teams in the late 1st (Texans?, Chiefs?) and early 2nd needing QBs.

Seahawks love trading back (as does NE) I was thinking both of these teams were likely trade partners.
