The Falcons Blew A 25 Point Lead In The Super Bowl

I was in Atlanta recently and had Falcons fans (plural) try and say they would rather lose the way they did, than go out how we did in 2015. They totally believe this. I think the trauma of thier choke has caused permanent damage.

The delusion is real. There isn't ANYBODY that would want to lose like the Falcons did compared to how we lost it. I thought our superbowl choke was bad, but theirs was astronomical. Our superbowl loss is merely a footnote, their loss will be forever known as the biggest choke in sports history and will be forever played over and over and over and over and over and over and over, having everybody tell you you blew a 28-3 lead.

This^^^.

Broncos vs Panthers is easily one of the most forgettable Super Bowls ever played.

This year's SB will remain legendary and often replayed/referenced simply due to the Falcons epic collapse.

Any collapse in any sports championship will now be measured against that of Atlanta's SB loss.

Future sports quote for any epic loss:  "Of course, this loss is heartbreaking.  No matter how hopeless our situation, we continued to give it our best effort for the full 60 minutes.  As Coach told us... NOBODY wants to be remembered for Doing a Falcons."

They're still in shock. Just wait until the NFL films rolls out, and of course endless replays once the season gets ramped up.

The Failclowns offseason of misery is just beginning.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
