I'm sorry .. I don't feel the need in signing our depth players so soon..jmo

There is no good reason not to just go ahead and sign our own guys now.

There are plenty of reasons to get deals done prior to free agency starting. Among them, they tend to be cheaper and you don't risk losing guys you wanted to keep.

If you let them go to free agency, you likely don't care if they come back or not. If you do care, then it makes zero sense to wait. Just do it.

What GM with a working brain would say to himself, "Yeah I want that guy back and he'll be cheap but let's just wait till free agency starts."  It sounds like something only an idiot would say.

You want to question the team? Feel free, but find a better reason than this one. This whole scenario is just stupid.

I don't know what will be out their after draft..

Again how did we get fozzy?? We couldn't do that again??

Or get Fozzy back in May or june..

But how many RBs did we cycle through in 3 or 4 weeks when we had the total position catastrophe at RB before we got Fozzy?  We had 3 or 4 weeks where we were starting a new RB every week.  Fozzy was a good find, but it was a pretty frantic search.

Think of how hard it proved to find a decent punter.  We all assumed letting Nortman go was no big deal.  Easy to find a fairly capable punter.   We sure struggled, and then Scifres got hurt, and we probably overpaid big time for Lee even though he's fantastic...

So... keeping solid depth you know and trust really isn't necessarily a minor thing, especially guys like Fozzy, Bersin & Jones who have proven to be ultimate unselfish team-first players

Fozzy was a undrafted FA.. And if you're talking about that time when Dwill and Stew were hurt.. We actually got a good game from street FA Obewhatever and beat the Browns...

And we can agree to disagree about Bersin and Fozzy being solid back-ups..

Oops sorry.  Yes, that is what I was thinking of.  I somehow thought we picked up Fozzy during that period when all our RBs were injured.  My bad.

But if you wait that long then almost all the known name FAs have already signed elsewhere.  You have to answer before that because that's how the system works in the NFL

We are talking about replacing back-ups right??

Bersin nor Fozzy nor Horton are know FA..

I want to get some quality starters 1st than worry about depth..

Okay, tell me which quality starters you want to sign and how much realistically you can sign them for, and then with the remaining cap numbers tell me which depth signings you'd make if you were GM
