Saints asking price for Cooks

I don't understand how you don't take #18 for cooks then.   You basically rent him for 2(3?) years and get a better draft pick than what you originally used on him.  Cooks has had great years but he's also a beneficiary of arguably the most accurate QB in the league the past decade.   What are they smoking down in the bayou...

Call me crazy, but I'm not so sure they're not hellbent on #5 overall or at least SOME way to keep Fournette from us.  It otherwise makes absolutely zero sense.  Fools.

I can see a "counter-drafting" strategy being used in later rounds (2-3 and later) but you're talking about the TOP of the draft.  Using resources to move up to the high end of the draft for the sole purpose of counter drafting us doesn't seem wise.  Honestly, I don't think we take fournette even if he's there at 8.  They must be high on one of the early edge guys or maybe even lattimore.   They have to be thinking defense IMO

This is all actually just a grand gesture by the Saints to show Cooks how much they love him and value him.

not likely.  Upping his value on a contract year isn't smart unless they are moving him

LOL....there is just no way the saints are going threw this much just to keep us from getting fournette. I'm not buying it.

The problem is you're thinking with logic, something they don't do, if they even think at all.

5 and 11 could also be enough to move up and guarantee another hometown hero in Adams, or perhaps they're looking to address the DL and take Allen. There's a number of ways this could go but I still think Fournette is the likeliest scenario.

Saints are big on drafting regional players. Watching a divisional rival take a local generational talent and run rampant over them would really be twisting the knife.

If the Saints get Fournette ... Brees could play a long, long time if Fournette is as advertised

You're telling me Fournette as a o-lineman right? Bc we just brought all of our pass rushers back and if Fournette and Adams are gone we'll be adding another DE.
