He's made a bunch of moves..does that make them GOOD moves? Or just moves? Do they fill needs with average at best players? I mean, there were definitely better potential targets out there. And although needs were filled, did the panthers settle for what was left after the top tier guys were signed?

Which of the signees were considered top 3 free agents in their position?

He signed solid players with great leadership and knowledge and a minimal hit to the cap at every needed position.  Sure, he could have gotten a few better players, but they would have killed our cap and prevented us from continuing to build later on.  G-man is killing it.

It's called having cap space.  It's what people have been telling the gettleman bashers for four years now.

And how many times has it been said that this is the first year we are finally out from under the terrible Hurney Contracts? Do people know for example that we paid Beason $8m last year? There are a lot of people on here with a lot of opinions but very little knowledge of the situation and what is actually going on. Sheesh

Isn't what Gettleman did this FA, what you're supposed to do as a GM when you have money to spend ? Close to a SB victory even though you had a bad season last year, with the right amount of veteran leadership (none of which we had last year ) and skill players through the draft? I think he's doing the right things, it's going to make this football team much better as a whole. We just might see the best Panthers team we've seen in a while. I don't think they'll win 15 games like they did in '15 but they'll be in that 11-12 range and have a much much better defense than that '15 team.

    • After watching Dan for 3 yrs now, I think I understand his plan. It’s a simple plan that should work for the long run.     I saw some of this last yr. Dan wants a vet and a young player at each position. I really think we go OT if one they like there. Moton is aging, Icky will not be back until 27, if ever. We need to get ahead of the tackle problem
    • You are just stressing too much about these particular positions. You want to upgrade from Bryce and I understand that but you aren’t going to really get that without getting into a bidding war for a QB2 potential QB1 like Willis. You could possibly trade for Mills or the backup for Chicago but they are still gambles and their teams will won’t decent picks.  Again the Eagles thought KP was a capable enough backup to trade for him once their backup was hurt and won a Super Bowl with him as QB2. The point is most teams aren’t rolling with some stud QB2/3 that is going to push even a bottom tier starter. They are better off the building their roster in other areas. The Rams are rolling with Bennett right now as QB2 for example.  The goal is winning absolutely. We overachieved last year even with stumbling into the playoffs. Another year and this staff needs to take the next step in building a team. Will Grier has little to no impact on that….
    • Three straight first round WRs is straight up Matt Millen poo. Considering the draft capital we have tied up on Bryce after that trade we would basically have spent damn near all of our draft capital in recent years on QB and WR just to put one of the most anemic passing offenses in the league on the field. Clown show poo.
